For a while, I was taking photos mainly thinking in black and white, but lately I've been exploring color more.
I think a large part of this is because I've been learning about colorization in video editing, and now I pay more attention to those details.
I believe that some photos are born to be in black and white, and others in color.
In the case of color, I think it depends on what the environment offers.
Architecture plays a key role there, because the design itself can immediately suggest whether it's aesthetically pleasing or not, or at least if it stands out from the conventional.
Estuve por un tiempo haciendo fotos pensando en blanco y negro, pero últimamente exploro más el color.
Creo que, en buena parte, esto se debe a que en la edición de video he estado aprendiendo sobre colorización y ahora estoy más pendiente de esos detalles.
Pienso que hay fotos que nacen para ser en blanco y negro y otras a color. En el caso del color, creo que se debe a lo que el entorno ofrece.
Allí la arquitectura juega un papel clave, porque el diseño ya de entrada puede decir si es estético o no, o si al menos se sale de lo convencional.
For example, if the colors are strategically harmonized, for me, color photography plays an important role, and it's a shame when black and white washes them away.
However, this shouldn't be a rule or absolute truth, because in the end, it will depend on the moment, the place, what you want to convey, even the light.
Nothing is totalitarian, or at least it shouldn't be. And much less so in photography.
But you also need to have judgment and vision.
I'm still learning to colorize, and I enjoy it every time I do it with my photographs.
Por ejemplo, si los colores están estratégicamente armonizados, para mí la fotografía a color juega un papel importante, y es una pena que el blanco y negro los arrase.
Sin embargo, esto no debe ser una regla o verdad absoluta, porque al final esto va a depender del momento, del lugar, de lo que quieres transmitir, incluso hasta de la luz.
Nada es totalitario, o al menos no debería serlo. Y mucho menos en la fotografía.
Pero también se debe tener criterio y visión.
Sigo aprendiendo a colorizar y disfruto cada vez que lo hago con mis fotografías.
