A really wonderful natural area on the western edge of the city of Calgary. Weaselhead Flats is where a series of natural canals from the Elbow River feed into the Glenmore Reservoir and then back out to the Elbow River again. It's also a good indicator of the different landscapes that you can encounter in Calgary. The west and south have more fir and pine trees and lead into the foothills, which lead into the Rocky Mountains. The north and east parts of the city can be fairly hilly but are more in line with grasslands and prairie-style landscapes.
