Nature is full of amazing gifts. They have different creature, landscapes that amazes people instantly. It was not differrent for me when I encountered the radiating colourful bug in one of the weeds. It has multiple colour that pulls my attention. Pink, blue, green name it and you will find everything in a single species.
On my first look, I was surprised to find so many colours. But it did not took me long to identify the little Jewel bug. During my routine walk to my farming fields, I took notice of these little bugs in one of the weeds. Infact there were few on that little weed plant. Appearing too small to notice but the radiating colour while it was upside help me to capture them.
Jewel bugs are named for their often brilliant coloration, which can range from metallic blue and green to black with small colored spots. These are not sort of any miracle. A god gifted naturally ability to glow their colours. Jewel bugs are known for being tough species that can survive in adverse conditions.
While it appears very colourful when it was upside, the upper part has a deep Green shield with black spot. I think, this is what made them to be called as jewel bugs. They live and feed on plant, and very quick to observe any danger. While I was trying to snap them it keep moving one leave to another. Anyhow, I manage to click these few picture for our love community.
These Jewel bugs are oval-shaped and small to medium in size, with an average body length of 5 to 20 mm. They have antennae with three to five segments right in their head. These are often mistaken for beetles. But again, nature gives everyone to survive and these species are not doing any different. Hope you enjoy the little jewel in tye wild.
