The experts fear that the war between Russia and Ukraine will drag on for months if Putin doesn’t finish it. This long war has many downsides, which I will describe as follows:
First of all, many people from Ukraine will continue dying and fleeing from the country. I have read that there have been more than twenty thousand refugees that have arrived in Mexico including children. In addition, this situation could produce that more people will try to cross the border to the United States of America.
Second, in the long term, after a prolonged war, the process around the world, including gas and food will soar dramatically, having an impact on everybody but mostly on the poor people who don’t have enough money to sustain and live.
Third, some international organizations will haul Vladimir Putin, because they consider him a rogue and a killer of innocent people.
On the other hand, Vladimir Putin has confirmed his attendance at the G20 summit which is going to be held on the island of Bali in Indonesia. Some of the G20 members have thought to walk out of the summit if Putin finally attends the ceremony.
However, the president of Indonesia has considered the meeting as an opportunity to convince Putin to put an end to the war. He said in an interview that peace is what has to characterize not only the summit but also the world and he considers this meeting an excellent place to try to make peace with the Russian president.
The president of the United States thinks that the assistance of Vladimir Putin is not good. The United States has helped Ukraine with arms and weapons to attack Russia, and for this reason, some consider that this war is not a war between two countries, it´s a world war. In my opinion, the interest of Russia was to obtain the mineral resources from Ukraine and Russia is using its gas for the war. Therefore, some countries such as Poland and Bulgaria are receiving gas from the European Union because Russia halted gas supplies to those countries.
Finally, everyone suffers from a long war…
