INTRODUCTION
Once there was a neophyte hunter in quest for a great old hunter for a massive training purpose, that he may level up himself as a hunter and, in the fullness of time, become a great hunter too. However, it was a long day's journey with seven mountains to trek before he could get to the great and old hunter's house.
Determined to arrive at his destination in pursuit of his dream to become the next great hunter, he endured the long journey and vanquished the risk of the wilds.
Finally, he made it there and came face-to-face with someone he had admired greatly for decades and dreamed of becoming. That very hour, he rolled out his purpose of coming, and both agreed with some tasks and rules to comply with, which were associated with obedience and a submissive heart.
1st Task: Run and Hide
Run to and hide on each tree found in the mountain for 7 months every day.
2nd Task: Arrow Stretching
Stretch the arrow and aim at a target like a wild animal without releasing for a few seconds and then repeat it for 7 weeks every day.
3rd Task: Hunt a Wild
This time, hunt for wild animals every day for 7 months.
4th Task: Hit the Apple
This task is riskier compared to other tasks. The great hunter commanded the neophyte hunter to hit the apple on his head using the hunting arrow. The neophyte successfully hit the apple without touching even the hair of the great hunter.
5th or Last Task: Hit the Lime
This task is the riskiest of all. Knowing that a lime is a tiny type of citrus fruit, a minor oversight on the focus target could mean injury or even death.
The neophyte hunter aimed at the lime as his target, which was placed over the head of the great old hunter. However, his heart deceived him by slightly changing the target from the lime to the left breast of the great old hunter.
He released the arrow into the air. But what was a rejoicing moment on the neophyte's end became his immaculate regret. The great and old hunter simply and effortlessly caught the freed arrow as it flew toward his heart with his right and crinkled hand.
Shocked in awe, the neophyte witnessed phenomenal wisdom as he spotted greatness beyond his perception, in the personality of the great and old hunter. Truly, the latter's name was defined by his unleashing virtuosity and brilliance.
Engulfed with shamefacedness as his ill motive was made known to the great hunter, neophyte was speechless in a moment and could not recover from an unbelievable scene.
At last, he managed to regain his composure and, with a trembling voice, asked the great old hunter to teach him how he did it. Unfortunately, the latter softly responded, "This technique is only for a submissive heart."
"MORAL LESSON ON SUBMISSIVENESS"
The neophyte hunter did not make it to break the record holder, who was the undefeated great hunter, because he had fallen short of the rule.
In life, there's nothing wrong with talents, possessions, and achievements. They are blandishments to the heart and would inspire others. However, let us not discount the motive of our hearts. Let us check once in a while what it is buying for. "A submissive heart is one of the keys to succeeding in pursuit of being great."
Submission is the willingness to yield to those in proper authority over us, like parents, teachers, government directives, work-field employers, etc. Nowadays, we sometimes perceive this as a sign of weakness, misery, and captivity. We tend to resist submission because we want to become independent in our pursuits in life. Just like a horse, we kick, go wild, and then run away.
However, in this case, when submission is to be considered, it is the exact opposite.
As a matter of fact, it shields our relationship with our family and even others; it offers deliverance from perils and discomforts. Moreover, it improves peaceful living and a sound relationship because it builds freedom against pride and permits us to become considerate of others opinions and desires. Lastly, it aids us in gaining courage and opening ourselves up to significant others for help, especially in times of trouble. Therefore, let’s take a moment to learn submission and begin to put this into practice on a regular basis because there's joy prepared before us. Just let submission well up from our hearts.
