En un pueblito de Austria, vivía Holly, una chica que había nacido con poderes mágicos. Su nacimiento fue algo peculiar puesto que fue la última en nacer en una camada de trillizas; lamentablemente, sus hermanitas nacieron sin vida, pero por casualidad, la partera colocó a Holly al lado de sus hermanas y, apenas al tocarlas, estas resucitaron. Desde ese momento, supieron que Holly era especial.
El suceso se regó por todo el pueblo, y rápidamente se hizo muy popular. Todos querían conocer a Holly, la niña que revivió a sus hermanas con solo tocarlas. Enseguida su familia se dio cuenta de que sus habilidades iban más allá de eso. Su abuela había enfermado; estaba a punto de morir por una fuerte infección que le tenía todo el brazo derecho de color negro. Antes de dejar este mundo, quiso ir a conocer a sus nietas, y cuando tocó a Holly, su brazo rápidamente sanó y la infección desapareció.
In a small town in Austria, there lived Holly, a girl who had been born with magical powers. Her birth was somewhat peculiar since she was the last to be born in a litter of triplets; unfortunately, her little sisters were born lifeless, but by chance, the midwife placed Holly next to her sisters and, as soon as she touched them, they came back to life. From that moment on, they knew Holly was special.
The story spread throughout the village, and quickly became very popular. Everyone wanted to meet Holly, the girl who brought her sisters back to life just by touching them. Soon her family realized that her abilities went beyond that. Her grandmother had fallen ill; she was about to die from a severe infection that turned her entire right arm black. Before leaving this world, she wanted to go meet her granddaughters, and when she touched Holly, her arm quickly healed and the infection disappeared.
"Enviada por los dioses", decían algunos, mientras que otros escépticos y malintencionados, llevados por la envidia, le achacaban los hechos a obras del demonio. Esto hizo que el pueblo se dividiera. Por un lado estaban los que la idolatraban y por otro, los que la aborrecían, pero ambos con algo en común, quedársela para utilizarla para su beneficio.
Sus padres, al darse cuenta de esto, deciden emprender un viaje sin rumbo alguno, todo para salvar a su familia. Sin embargo, tenían perseguidores y se les hacía difícil esconderse, por lo que decidieron tomar una decisión, matarla, pero no de manera literal, sino hacer correr el rumor de que había muerto de una terrible infección. Su plan funcionó y la persecución acabó, pero condenaron a Holly a un encierro perpetuo.
"Sent by the gods", some said, while others, skeptical and malicious, driven by envy, attributed the events to the work of the devil. This caused the people to divide. On one side were those who idolized her and on the other, those who abhorred her, but both had something in common, taking her to use her for their benefit.
Her parents, realizing this, decided to embark on an aimless journey, all to save their family. However, they had pursuers and it was difficult for them to hide, so they decided to make a decision, to kill her, but not literally, but to spread the rumor that she had died of a terrible infection. Their plan worked and the persecution ended, but they condemned Holly to perpetual confinement.
El tiempo fue pasando, y las niñas ya estaban bastante grandes. Con 12 años, querían comerse al mundo mientras jugaban y corrían por los espacios libres, pero esto no era posible para Holly.
Sus hermanas, al ser conscientes de lo que sucedía y por la deuda eterna que tienen con ella, deciden buscar una manera para poder hacer que su hermana haga algo que tanto desea; ver el sol y las nubes.
Luego de pensar tanto, a una de ellas se les ocurrió una idea, ver si Holly podía habitar algunos elementos a la distancia. Fue así como descubrieron que Holly podía ir pasando de materia en materia y ver y oír siempre y cuando estuvieran dibujados por lo menos unos ojos y unas orejas.
Time went by, and the girls were already quite grown up. At 12 years old, they wanted to eat the world while playing and running through the open spaces, but this was not possible for Holly.
Her sisters, being aware of what was happening and because of the eternal debt they owe her, decided to find a way to make their sister do something she wanted so much; to see the sun and the clouds.
After thinking so much, one of them came up with an idea, to see if Holly could inhabit some elements at a distance. That's how they discovered that Holly could go from matter to matter and see and hear as long as at least some eyes and ears were drawn.
Las tres hermanas se pusieron manos a la obra y comenzaron a dibujar en diversos objetos que iban colocando afuera de su cabaña. Cuando Holly habitó el primer objeto, se sintió muy feliz.
A pesar de estar inmóvil, podía ver, escuchar y sentir el aire fresco de la naturaleza. Saltaba de un objeto a otro hasta que llegó a uno que le encantó. Era una vieja rama que habían tirado porque no era muy bonita y el dibujo no les había gustado, pero había quedado boca arriba apuntando el dibujo hacia el cielo.
Holly pasaba horas apreciando la luminosidad del sol y el azul del cielo. Las formas que hacían las nubes la hacían muy feliz y así pasaba muchos de sus momentos.
Día a día, Holly buscaba la manera de encontrar una solución y tener una vida normal, pero mientras lo hacía, disfrutaba todo lo que pudiera de habitar esa vieja rama que simplemente le traía felicidad.
The three sisters got down to work and began to draw on various objects that they placed outside their hut. When Holly inhabited the first object, she felt very happy. Despite being immobile, she could see, hear and feel the fresh air of nature. She jumped from one object to another until she came to one that she loved. It was an old branch that had been thrown away because it wasn't very pretty and they didn't like the drawing, but it had been left upside down pointing the drawing to the sky.
Holly spent hours appreciating the brightness of the sun and the blue of the sky. The shapes the clouds made made her very happy and she spent many of her moments that way.
Day by day, Holly looked for a way to find a solution and have a normal life, but while doing so, she enjoyed as much as she could inhabiting that old branch that simply brought her happiness.
