An involuntary oblivion
Él estaba aterrado, sabía que poco a poco todos sus recuerdos serían borrados, luchaba con esa absurda realidad, pero no era suficiente, el tiempo lo amenazaba a cada rato, por eso decidió asumir su desdicha y dejar todo anotado.
Asumió solo esa carga que lo tenía cabizbajo, algunos no entendían ciertas decisiones que él día a día fue tomando, aprovechaba bien su tiempo, plasmando sus deseos para que luego fueran respetados.
La persona que más amaba, estaba a punto de dejarlo, no lograba entender porque él la estaba descuidando, lo peor que hizo fue olvidar su fecha de aniversario, esa que tanto tiempo celebraron como señal de que se seguían amando.
Ella desconcertada empezó a investigarlo, todo lo que conseguía le daba la señal de un engaño, pero no conseguía pruebas, pero si era seguro que él actuaba extraño, por momentos le daba instrucciones y le hacía ver que estaba muy preocupado, quería que ella fuera más segura, cuando ya él no estuviera a su lado.
La vida de este hombre se hundía por un barranco, por eso quería soltar la mano, de quién desde jóven había tomado, el quería que ella fuera feliz y de eso se estaba encargando, hizo tantas cosas que luego fue delegando, en amigos muy confiables que sabía que no podían traicionarlo.
El tiempo para él se estaba agotando, jugó su última carta aunque con el corazón destrozado, aceptó firmar el divorcio que ella estaba reclamando, para él era un adiós que terminaría por matarlo, para ella era un nuevo comienzo, aunque nunca pudo lograrlo.
En medio de todo esto, pasó algo inesperado, ella estaba embarazada y él no quería aceptarlo, eso aumentaba su agonía pues sabía que no estaría a su lado, ella le propuso reconsiderar la decisión que habían tomado, él no tenía alternativa y su negación la lastimó a un alto grado.
Su decisión fue seguir con su embarazo, quería concentrarse en recibir a su hijo que para ella sería lo más sagrado, él se retiró por completo de su vida y así pasaron algunos años, ella no supo de él, hasta que llegó el día de aquel casual encuentro donde él siguió de largo.
Ella sorprendida se lo quedó mirando, no podía creer que ni un saludo le hubiera dado, él siguió caminando porque todos eran extraños, muchos de sus recuerdos ya no estaban claros, por eso él tenía tanto temor a ese olvido involuntario.
He was terrified, he knew that little by little all his memories would be erased, he fought with that absurd reality, but it was not enough, time threatened him at every moment, that's why he decided to assume his misfortune and leave everything written down.
He assumed alone that burden that had him crestfallen, some did not understand certain decisions that he was taking day by day, he made good use of his time, shaping his desires so that they would be respected.
The person he loved the most was about to leave him, she could not understand why he was neglecting her, the worst thing he did was to forget their anniversary date, the one they celebrated for so long as a sign that they still loved each other.
She was puzzled and began to investigate him, everything she found gave her the sign of deception, but she could not find proof, but it was certain that he was acting strangely, at times he gave her instructions and made her see that he was very worried, he wanted her to be more secure, when he was no longer by her side.
This man's life was sinking down a cliff, that's why he wanted to let go of the hand he had held since he was young, he wanted her to be happy and that's what he was taking care of, he did so many things that he was delegating to very trustworthy friends that he knew could not betray him.
Time was running out for him, he played his last card although with a broken heart, he agreed to sign the divorce she was demanding, for him it was a goodbye that would end up killing him, for her it was a new beginning, although she could never achieve it.
In the middle of all this, something unexpected happened, she was pregnant and he did not want to accept it, that increased her agony because she knew she would not be by his side, she proposed to reconsider the decision they had taken, he had no alternative and his refusal hurt her to a high degree.
Her decision was to continue with her pregnancy, she wanted to concentrate on welcoming her son who for her would be the most sacred thing, he withdrew completely from her life and so some years passed, she did not hear from him, until the day of that casual encounter where he walked away.
She was surprised and stared at him, she could not believe that he had not even given her a greeting, he kept walking because everyone was a stranger, many of his memories were no longer clear, that's why he was so afraid of that involuntary forgetfulness.
