"Reno, what's the answer to the question?", Sir Lawrence screamed.
He was already getting agitated; Imagine teaching for three hours plus and asking the question you'd think the dumbest person would chorus an answer to and this child stays mute making all your efforts look void.
Reno was one of the uncontestably the dullest person in class. His teachers actually thought he was unteachable as he had a very carefree behaviour which made things worse for him academically. He was even beginning to believe he was as dumb as everyone said.
Truth be told, Reno was not as dull as everyone said he was. Of course he came last in class and struggled with remembering a lot of things but his mates began to over hype the issue and Reno's self esteem was damaged in the process such that even if he knew the answer, he'd not have the confidence to speak up because everyone tagged him 'Dull'. This made him an introvert; reserved and with very few friends.
It was a miracle he got admission into the university to study Law at the Prestigious University of Ilorin after two years of staying at home. To be factual, his secondary school was happy to let go of such a student who bamboozled their ratings amongst other schools but their happiness was sidestepped by their shock on how it happened that their one time dumbest student qualified for Law and even got admitted into UNILORIN of all schools after staying at home for two years.
What they did know was that Reno rewrote the University Entrance examination known as WAEC again because the result he had from his secondary school was just too bad. That period was one of his most solitary periods. He looked for a place where he could be all alone; he was at his lowest, his parents were disappointed and they were so used to it like they expected worse from him.
Reno finally found solace and it was in a very quiet place called THE COMMUNITY LIBRARY. He'd go there early in the mornings and return in the evenings. He didn't like to read but the place was what he needed, a Quiet place away from disturbance plus the librarian would send away anyone that was not reading a book and doing so silently. Reno really didn't want to get sent away as he treasured the peace and quiet of the Library so he began reading.
Soon he found solace on the pages of the books in the Library and in less than a year, He felt he was ready to take the NEXT WAEC and JAMB exam again.
His parents had seen changes in their boy but they were shocked when he told them he wanted to go for Law. They eventually agreed to attend to the fees and when the results came out, they couldn't believe he had 6As and 3Bs.
