Jesuit college, the academy for only geniuses of both genders gathers the students every year to see how they can shape a better world. In the last year, the best group created a spaceship that could travel to space with as much as one thousand crew members on board. It was the first of its kind in Kivuland.
The following year, there was a rumour that some of the students of the other year had some magical powers they had employed in designing a magnificent spaceship. So, this current year, the learners agreed to do better.
George Alfred, the principal of Jesuit college had ordered the learners be divided into four to carry out their different projects.
The first group decided to design a car that will be able to run without fossil fuel but on ordinary water. It is going to be the talk of the century if the projects succeed. The leader of the group, Max, was bent on ensuring that they concluded the project.
Beryl, the only girl in the group, was their main support on the wheels. At that tender age, she could drive any car, both automatic and manual. While they were test running the car, Beryl met a scene of the other group constructing an aircraft that suspended on the atmosphere for forty-eight hours.
That sounded like a great project when Bertl gave the update to the other members of her group.
Max, Beryl and other members of the group decided to make more research into what could be done better on their project.
They decided to consult their Physics teacher. There, he told them that there could be more than meets the eyes.
The speech of the physics teacher was deep and Max's group decided to find out the secret of the other group working on the aircraft.
One thing they discovered was they met only at night, in an abandoned warehouse. So, they decided to be on the trail of the other group.
Later in the night, they trailed the aircraft group to the abandoned warehouse. To their amazement, they discovered that the while members of the group had magical powers.
Marilyn, the leader of the group, was busy extracting some liquid from a light endowed tree to keep the aircraft floating on air. Max just stood there, with his mouth wide opened.
Their science isn't really if it had magic.
Beryl muttered in the ears of Max.
But they are set to win the contest if we don't do something fast.
Max highlighted with much enthusiasm.
After the sightseeing, Max and Beryl tiptoed from their hideout back to their hostels.
The next day, when Max's group gathered to continue their work on the electrical parts of their non-fossil fuel car, they were surprised to see that the wiring had been completed.
Beryl had engaged her magical powers to fine tune the wiring of the car and it was perfect.
To every other person, Beryl only made her knowledge of physics come to the public sphere.
Two other groups didn't do much. There were no members with power of magic in the group so they constructed only what their little knowledge of technology could carry.
On the day all the groups were to present their project in the Jesuit college auditorium, with dignitaries from the ministries of government and other stakeholders in attendance, the exhibition began.
The first group presented their vacuum cleaner, running on solar energy at the speed of light, which cleans the whole space of dust and other debris. Mat and Angela present on behalf of the group.
They did so well at the presentation that they got a standing ovation at the end of their presentation.
Thereafter, the next group presented a machine that could turn lemongrass into tea. They made it in such a way that they put the chopped lemongrass into tea bags and served the moderators a hot saucer of lemongrass tea.
It was fun watching these young lads present such innovative projects. The moderator wasted no time to sing their praise when they rounded off their presentation with resounding applause and standing ovation from the audience.
The group that designed the aircraft with magical powers was next in line to make their presentation.
Been took to the centre stage. He was the progenitor of the idea of the aircraft. He was stepping up to the podium with Sonia who had been very supportive. The other members of the group were to watch from their sitting position.
Ben requested to use the microphone to explain how the aircraft was designed.
Beryl walked to the back stage with her wand under her gown. As Ben was to start the wings of the aircraft, instead of the blade's rolling, it gushed out a heavy amount of water and splashed on the faces of the moderators and other members of the audience.
She had applied the use of her magical powers to ensure that the aircraft group did not win the contest.
With rage written all over him, Ben climbed down the podium, disappointed that the magic chants did not work out as proposed.
Finally, it was time for Max's group to make their presentation. Beryl, who knew what was likely going to happen, walked up stage from backstage and began the presentation.
She drove the car on the stage and explained all its features to the listening audience and the moderators. It was a striking presentation. And the golden buzzer was hit by the judges and Max's group won the projects of the year, all thanks to the magical powers of Beryl that wasn't not known by any member of her group, not even Max.
