It was my 6th birthday but wasn't so much of fun as I had a painful shaky tooth. I recall the pains was unbearable such that I couldn't comfortably eat and I cried the entire day and couldn't even sleep as I had developed fever. The birthday was totally a bad and horrible day for me. I stayed up late that night watching my favorite cartoon, our domestic staff- Rose stayed up with me as well. I headed to the kitchen to grab a drink when I felt my tooth fall off. I immediately took it back to the sitting room to show it to Rose who was quite happy knowing the pains I had been through.
"If you throw this tooth on the roof, a lizard will pick it up and run but if you put it under your pillow, at the strike of midnight a fairy would visit with a parcel."Rose said. Well, Rose was one of the most disciplined household staffs and I didn't expect her to be lying.
I believed her and eagerly waited for midnight. I couldn't sleep that night. It felt like a day before Christmas when we would keep wake in eagerness to unbox our packages. I continued watching my movie until I was tired. I laid there thinking about what my fairy would look like, what she would say or what she would give me. Midnight struck but she didn't show, I was quite disappointed as I sluggish dragged myself to sleep. I really wanted to see a fairy as I read about them only in my story books about their magic, maybe she would give me a silver shoe as Cinderella's, I thought. I dozed off while in my thoughts and I awaken by the sound of my name.
Becky, Becky the voice called,
Oh mum it's still too early I just slept
I am the fairy godmother of the tooth and I came to get the tooth under your pillow....the voice said
My ears shot as I woke up immediately and handed her the tooth. Come with me, she said.
Wow, the field was pretty, the flowers beautiful, the leaves and grasses so green, the birds pretty, the air was so chill with so many other fairies flying around. I was thrilled by what I saw as the tooth fairy took me around.
Be careful not to touch anything as everything here is magical, she said....But I was drawn to this beautiful red and white rose, it's just a flower, what's the worst that could happen, I thought....
I touched the petals and immediately I was stuck, the petals engulfed my hands, spreading to my elbow, the petal was swallowing me.I could feel slimy and could liquid spreading my hands I kept screaming and struggling, dragging myself to freedom but I couldn't hear myself. Stop struggling and stand still, my tooth fairy said. This time I listened and the flower let go releasing me while I heavily sighed out.
It's almost dark break and you must get back if not you'd be stuck here, for your tooth you have one wish she added. My dad had gone for the war and it's been more than 3 years since I last saw him. I miss him everyday and sometimes I see my mum crying while praying with his portrait.
I want my daddy to come back home safely, I said
Becky, Becky, this time it was my mum
You need to get up and prepare, your dad just called, he's at the airport we need to go pick him darling so hurry up please.
Seeing my mum all happy made me smile, thankyou fairy God mother of the tooth for bringing my precious and beloved daddy back. This reunion meant alot to me especially the part where I had to sit with daddy to discuss alot of things."

***Era mi sexto cumpleaños pero no fue muy divertido ya que me dolía una muela. Recuerdo que los dolores eran insoportables de tal manera que no podía comer cómodamente y lloré todo el día y ni siquiera pude dormir ya que me había dado fiebre. El cumpleaños fue un día totalmente malo y horrible para mí. Esa noche me quedé hasta tarde viendo mis dibujos animados favoritos, nuestro personal doméstico -Rose- también se quedó despierto conmigo. Me dirigí a la cocina para coger una bebida cuando sentí que se me caía un diente. Inmediatamente lo llevé a la sala de estar para mostrárselo a Rose, que se alegró bastante al saber los dolores que había pasado.
"Si tiras este diente al tejado, una lagartija lo recogerá y saldrá corriendo, pero si lo pones debajo de la almohada, al sonar la medianoche te visitará un hada con un paquete". Rose dijo. Bueno, Rose era una de las empleadas domésticas más disciplinadas y no me pareció que mintiera.***
La creí y esperé ansiosamente la medianoche. Esa noche no pude dormir. Me sentí como un día antes de Navidad, cuando nos despertábamos ansiosos por abrir nuestros paquetes. Seguí viendo mi película hasta que me cansé. Me quedé tumbada pensando en cómo sería mi hada, qué diría o qué me regalaría. Llegó la medianoche pero no apareció, me decepcioné bastante mientras me arrastraba perezosamente a dormir. Tenía muchas ganas de ver a un hada, ya que sólo había leído sobre ellas en mis libros de cuentos sobre su magia, quizás me daría un zapato de plata como el de Cenicienta, pensé. Me quedé dormida mientras pensaba y me despertó el sonido de mi nombre.
Becky, Becky la voz llamó,
Oh, mamá, todavía es muy temprano, acabo de dormir.
Soy el hada madrina del diente y he venido a buscar el diente bajo tu almohada.... la voz dijo
Mis oídos se dispararon cuando me desperté inmediatamente y le entregué el diente. Ven conmigo, dijo ella.
Vaya, el campo era bonito, las flores hermosas, las hojas y las hierbas tan verdes, los pájaros bonitos, el aire era tan frío con tantas otras hadas volando alrededor. Me emocioné con lo que vi mientras el hada de los dientes me llevaba de un lado a otro.
Ten cuidado de no tocar nada ya que todo aquí es mágico, me dijo ....Pero me atrajo esta hermosa rosa roja y blanca, es sólo una flor, ¿qué es lo peor que podría pasar, pensé....Toqué los pétalos e inmediatamente me quedé atascada, los pétalos engulleron mis manos, extendiéndose hasta mi codo, el pétalo me estaba tragando.Podía sentir el líquido viscoso y podía extender mis manos Seguí gritando y luchando, arrastrándome hacia la libertad pero no podía oírme. Deja de forcejear y quédate quieta, dijo mi hada de los dientes. Esta vez le hice caso y la flor me soltó liberándome mientras yo firmaba fuertemente.
Es casi de noche y tienes que volver si no estarías aquí atrapada, para tu diente tienes un deseo añadió. Mi padre se fue a la guerra y hace más de 3 años que no lo veo. Le echo de menos todos los días y a veces veo a mi madre llorar mientras reza con su retrato.
Quiero que mi padre vuelva a casa sano y salvo, dije.
Becky, Becky, esta vez fue mi mamá
Tienes que levantarte y prepararte, tu padre acaba de llamar, está en el aeropuerto tenemos que ir a recogerlo cariño así que date prisa por favor.
Ver a mi madre tan feliz me hizo sonreír, gracias hada madre de los dientes por traer a mi precioso y querido papá de vuelta. Este reencuentro significó mucho para mí, especialmente la parte en la que tuve que sentarme con papá para discutir muchas cosas."
