Every week I give my 5 biggest takeaways from the Town Hall. For the video version, please see below!
- Bulk Purchases at 1M Packs (Dec 28th deadline)
Nice to see there will be a formal deadline for this. With it being less than 3 weeks away, I'm hopeful that we won't reach the full 6M packs allocated for the bulk purchase.
- Official Splinterfest in the works (Q2/Q3 2022)
Super excited about this. The community around this game is phenomenal and it would be great to interact with and meet folks in person. As of now, depending on the date/location of course, I am planning to attend!
- Zensports Tourney
E-Sports is gigantic in the gaming industry, and with a game as competitive as Splinterlands this is an area that I'm very happy to see the team focusing on. I have always been a big fan of organized competition and with Chaos Legion now giving many people the opportunity to buy packs and cards, I think the buy in from the player base will be tremendous.
- Lore / Metaverse?
Nate danced around the buzzword "metaverse", so I'll go ahead and say it for him! This may not be what people traditionally think of when the term metaverse gets thrown around, but the team is ambitious and you can already see a robust and thriving economy that exists within the game. Add in a fully developed world with lore history and land and I would say we are heading towards a very exciting Splinterverse!
- DEC back to peg? Below peg?
The team talked somewhat casually about DEC not only going back to it's peg, but actually falling below it. With the soft peg set at $0.001, we are currently 7x above that so it would be a massive drop in value. The good sign is that if it were to fall below, there was some discussion about honoring it at the peg level for certain purchases - although that is not confirmed at this time.
