In this video, I respond to a comment on my YouTube channel that takes us to the age old question - is Splinterlands a game or a defi platform - or both? To be clear, there is very clearly a game within the Splinterlands project which is the TCG. Many people, including myself, have spent endless hours battling each other or the computer. So make no mistake, Splinterlands is certainly a game.
That being said, what makes Splinterlands so fun for many of us is that is also serves as a way to own assets and build equity with the governance token SPS. We can also participate in many defi related activities like staking and liquidity pools. Much of this has been integrated into the game in a seamless way.
Overall, what makes Splinterlands unique is it's ability to blend these elements and gamify many areas of the project.
