Wands Out ruleset
Description:
Only units with magic attacks may be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.
The Battle Ruleset
Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.
Wands Out: Only units with magic attacks may be used.
This is a middle mana ruleset game and four color is available to play, which is the Fire, Water, Death and the Dragon Splinters. The Wands Out ruleset is a very strict ruleset, because it eliminates the possibility to play with the melee and ranged attack monsters and we need to rely only on the magic attack monsters.
It is paramount to choose a summoner who has buff for the magic attack monsters or some kind of protection against it. 😀
My Team Composition
Alric Stormbringer is an excellent summoner who is perfect for the Wands Out ruleset, because he give splus one magic attack to all of his monters. His cost is only 3 as well, which is nice and his disadvantage is that he is only playable in Wild mode.
Lobstradamus is a low cost tank for this battle and he is an all around monster, but not with his damage, but with his Protection abilities. The Shield is pretty useless here, but his Magic Reflect ability is able to do some significant damage against the entire enemy team as long as he is alive.
The Prismatic Energy has a similar purpose like the Lobstradamus, because he also has the Magic Reflect ability with high health, so if my opponent monsters can not counter that they might be in a trouble.
The Djinn Oshannus is my perfect tank and damage dealer for this fight, because he is well protected against the magic attack monsters. He has the Void ability, which will halves all the damage if it is higher than one or it will negate it if it is one or less.
The Ruler of the Seas is my main damage dealer, because he has a nice amount of three magic damage and the Blast ability, which is irrevelant in this battle, because all the monsters will possess that thanks to the Explosive Weaponry ruleset. His Swiftness comes handy for my team, because he will increase the speed of all of his friendly monsters by one.
On a first glance the River Nymph doesn't really look that strong in this battle, but I think she is the main reason that I won this game. She has a very important ability, which is the Amplify, which will increase all the reflected damage by one.

My strategy was to bring as much montster as possible with the Magic Reflect ability and using my River Nymph to Amplify that reflected damage from one to two. This might be enough to get rid of some of their squishy damage dealer.
My opponent picked Thaddius Brood for this battle who is the perfect counter against my team and all of my monsters except my Ruler of the Sea damage has been decreased to the minimum value of one.
Luckily the Magic Reflect works outside of this rule, so when a monster attacked my Lobstradamus their Blast damage also damaged my Prismatic Energy the Magic Reflect ability on both of them activated and they received four damage back.
This was enough to deal a huge amount of damage back to their attackers and by the second round they have lost two monsters and the rest was heavily injured.
My strategy worked perfectly and because no one could bring any Sneak attack monster my River Nymph was pretty safe at the back of my lineup. 😀
Do you like Wands Out? Why or why not?
Yes I like it a lot, but only if I can bring my favorite summone, which is Alric Strombringer. The Water deck has a lot of powerful magic attack monsters and it is very easy to make a pretty soid team.
