They say there is nothing more beautiful than a Regal Peryton. They prefer to live in the mountains all across the Splinterlands, rarely seen by others. When they soar through the skies, the sunlight catches through their wings and creates rainbows underneath them. Regal Perytons are highly intelligent and consider themselves noble guardians of the natural world, using their magic to help others.
Rihue lay upon a rocky outcropping on the side of the mountain, shivering beneath an overcast sky. He stared at his ruined leg and his broken ankle.
He’d been hunting game and gathering fruits and berries for his wife and daughter who lived back home in their little cabin when he’d slipped and shattered his leg on the rocks. He’d shouted himself hoarse, but it was no use. No one could hear him. No one was coming.
That had been three days ago. His food and water were gone. He couldn’t make it back down the mountain on his own. He was going to die.
But then Rihue heard a call like that of a bird and saw a creature descending through the sky toward him. It had the head and body of a stag, with massive antlers upon its head, but instead of forelegs, two mighty wings grew from its shoulders. Its coat and feathers were white and shades of purple, and it was the most beautiful creature Rihue had ever seen.
The Regal Peryton landed beside him on the outcropping and regarding him with one intelligent eye. Then it lowered itself and, with a nod of its majestic head, extended a wing.
Rihue crawled toward it, up the wing and onto the creatures back. He clung tightly as it spread its wings and soared into the sky, down the mountain, and toward salvation.
The Stats of the Regal Peryton
The Regal Peryton is a great magic attack rare monster within the Earth Splinter. We got him by the Chaos Legion set. He is very fast and he has the flying ability. The low speed monsters will miss him a lot. He doesn't have any another ability, though he is very recommended to choose with Obsidian, because this summoner will give one extra magic attack to all of her friendly monsters.
Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability. 25% chance to evade.
This is a rare card and one regular copy cost 0.33$, which is not that cheap, but well worth the price. The gold version of him is way out of my reach as it is costing over 3$.
Battle Ruleset
Standard Ruleset: No modification on the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.
Low mana 17, all color can be played.
My Lineup
Obsidian is a very strong summoner within the Earth Splinter, because she gives one magic damage to all of her friendly monsters who have magic attack. It is not so easy to counter her, but some of the summoners can do that with ease.
The Failed Summoner is an excellent common creature with 4 health and the magic reflect ability. He is good as a tank in a low mana ruleset and especially against magic attack creatures. He cost only 2 mana, but very expensive to rent.
The Fungus Fiend is a legendary monster for zero mana. I had left place in my backline therefore I used him as a second tank to protect my backline. He can take few damage from the opponent creatures depends from the ruleset.
Regal Peryton is the monster of the week. He is a very fast magic attack creature and has the flying ability. The lower speed of enemy melee and ranged attack monsters can't hit him easily, because he has 25% chance to evade these attacks on top of the speed difference.
Khmer Princess is a magic attack creature costing only 2 mana. She will receive tank heal ability on level four, but in this fight I couldn't use that amazing ability.
The Wood Nymph is a common magic attack monster with 2 health and tank heal ability from level one. She is a very good support for the team on lower levels.
The Battle
I choosed Obsidian as a summoner with magic attack monsters in this low mana ruleset. The Obsidian's ability is to increase the magic attack to all of her friendly creatures by one. The only counter would be Thaddius who can remove my buff completely or Owster Rotwell who will reflect all the incoming magic damage back to his attackers.
Luckily my opponent brought Drake Arnak instead of Thaddius, who's ability is to give plus 1 armor to all of his monsters. My magic attack creatures ignoring the armor, because this type of attack deals damage under the armor. 😎

My strategy worked as I planned, because I wanted to deal as much as damage I can using the strongest attack type this game offers which is the magic attack. In this battle my creatures were killing their monster one by one with each of their attacks.
The perfect choice in this ruleset would be the Scarred Llama Mage comboed with Kron the Undying, because this duo is invinicible in Bronze League in a 17 mana cap battle.
Do you like the Regal Peryton? Why or why not?
The Regal Peryton is one of the strongest creature in the Bronze League, because his speed is very high. The five mana cost is good to use in any battle and he is able to dodge a lot of incoming melee and ranged attacks. The only weakness of him if the enemy targeting him with magic attack as well, because he has only five health.
Thank you so much reading my article and have a good luck with your upcoming battles. 😊
