Hola splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well today.
Source
Today is probably the first time I’m using a summoner from the Rebellion ones. I still can't fully utilize the summoners since I'm new to this cross-monster deck type. Therefore, building a deck with monsters from different summoners is a bit awkward for me. I will be trying out more of these decks in the future.
To sum it up, today's battle is a noteworthy one and should be up there among the top battles of the day!
Without further ado, let's begin.
Battle Conditions
The mana cap for the battle is 19. There are 3 summoners to choose from apart from the Neutral ones: Fire, Life, and Dragon. I chose one Neutral summoner from the Life faction.
Battle rules:
- Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Avina of the Wolf(Ability: Allow 2 monsters to have the self-heal ability OR allow 1 monster to have higher speed).
Tank: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Ranged Attackers: War Pegasus(Ability: Flying, Shatter), Venari Crystalsmith(Ability: Tank Heal).
My strategy was to get my War Pegasus to its highest damage and speed before coming to the first position. That being said, I also wanted my Pegasus to be healed continuously by both the summoner's ability and Crystalsmith's ability for the greatest endurance battle possible.
My overall damage per round is 4 and the healing varies on the opponent's damage. The highest heal possible would be 6.
Now for the opposition's turn.
Summoner: Helios Matriarch(Ability: Allows the usage of 1 gladiator monster and increases the speed of all ally monsters by 1).
Tank: *Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Magic attacker: Captain Katie(Ability: Snipe, Bloodlust).
Melee Attacker: Uraeus(Ability: Sneak).
His strategy was to use his Marksrat's ability on his bloodthirsty monster. That way, he could have the ultimate weapon that would attack from the front while keeping his Uraeus in the back as it damages me from the back.
His overall damage output per round is 6 with 0 healing.
Major Events
At the beginning of the round, his Marksrat fell allowing Katie to get a boost on all stats.
Next, my Marksrat fell and thus my Pegasus got the stats boost.
After much battling, his bloodthirsty monster fell to my War Pagasus, a feat that shocked me too.
And lastly, his Uraeus missed his mark at the end of the battle as that could've been a crucial hit. Later, Pegasus cleared the deck and got the sweet victory.
Results
His strategy was a bit similar to mine. He decided to use a gladiator card while I went with a summoner that allowed me to have 2 monsters with self-healing abilities. That was the turnaround that gave me an edge. he expected Katie to eliminate a monster before and after it came to the tank's position but boy was he wrong.
