Hello Guy's! All Splinterlands Player!
I'm back with my Splinterlands post. Now I'm taking part in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. From the thumbnail of this post you can definitely guess what I am sharing, right? Yups, I'm going to discuss one of the Legendary Gladius monsters from Water element, the Flagulon Reine.
If you follow my previous posts, you'll realize that lately I've written a lot about Gladius Monster, this is because after moving up to tier 2 I often get interesting battles from battle brawls that I really want to share. Flagulon Reine is the fourth Gladius I'll discuss with you. I'm so excited because this is my first Legendary Gladius that I just got not long ago.
When I just got this Gladius, I immediately imagined combining this Gladius with Summoners who can increase magic attacks such as Alric Stormbringer, Valnamor, and Delwyn Dragonscale. It also happened that at that time my guild friend invited me to exchange frays, so I was the one who usually filled in Fray 2, Novice CL only to fill in the Fray 1 Novice All edition card. So I can use my Flagulon Reine according to what I imagined.
If you don't know yet, I joined Electronz, a local guild from Indonesia that I built together with my friends with voluntary dues, so don't imagine this is a big guild supported by whales hehe. We played at Tier 2 not long ago, which has Hall level 3, Arena level 3, Barrack level 2, and store level 3.
Alright, guys, without further ado, let's get to the main topic in this post. Well guys, as you know I'm not a Proplayer nor am I a tournament hero, I'm just happy to share the battle strategy of the battle which I find interesting which might be a reference you can use if the monsters and rulesets in your battle support it.
FLAGULON REINE
The incredibly tall stormcaster called Flagulon Reine always speaks softly, for one who commands such power with their movements rarely needs to make verbal commands. He is Khymian by race, meaning that he was not born of a mother, but delivered from the sky as an infant by Kralus the sacred flying tiger. As a young man, Flagulon became so serious about his stormcalling magic that he left the land of his ancestors and traveled to the lawless Splinter of ΛZMΛRÉ, where storms are far more plentiful, to learn the true potential of his powers. There over the next thirty years, Flagulon resided in the islands, practicing and mastering his own special system of certamine expugnatum, meaning “combat by storm.” In this strangely beautiful method of hand-to-hand combat, the stormfighter rarely must make physical contact with his enemy, relying instead on small storms and forces of nature that extend from his fists and feet.....
Flagulon Reine full lore you can read in Splinterlands Lore
Flagulon Reine is a Legendary Gladius from the Water element with 6 manacap and has 2 magic damage which at level 1 already active abilities Blast and Bloodust. It is almost similar to the other monster Water Legendary from the Reward edition, Ruler of The Seas. Blast ability is very explosive because it deals additional damage to monsters around the target. Of course this will increase the chances of Bloodust ability to be active. As we know that the creepy thing about Gladius monsters is Bloodust abilityis so dangerous because it revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats as opponents, it gets +1 to all stats (in the Reverse Speeds rulesets, -1 to Speed).
To make the Flagulon Reine more deadly, I tried to combine the Flagulon Reine with Vlnamor, a summoner who buffs +1 Magic, +1 Speed and +1 HP . What does this very deadly battle look like? Let's take a look together.
BATTLE PREPARATION
RULESETS
This is a Brawl battle, the host is me with a fray limit of Novice All Card playable may be used and Arena Tactics Host guild always wins when there's a Draw. Host guild units attacks first in Ties.
The rulesets in this battle are
- Spreading Fury (All monsters have the Enrage ability)
- Manacap 40
- Elements Active Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon.
LINE-UP AND STRATEGY
As said above, the Summoner that I will use is Valnamor which gives buffs +1 Magic, +1 Speed, and +1 HP. Before I switched to playing in modern battles, Valnamor was my favorite Summoner in the Bronze league and below because I think this Summoner is very strong with the buffs given and only has 5 manacaps. The best combo for this Summoner is of course with the Magic monster army, because magic damage will increase. Of course, our star Flagulon Reine will be one of the magic attacking forces in this battle.
+1 The speed given by Valnamor is also very useful in spreading fury rulesets that provide Enrage ability, because monsters will increase Melee attacks and speed when damaged. You can see the complete line-up and strategy of each monster in the table below:
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | +1 Magic, +1 Speed, +1 HP | A very powerful summoner that will increase magic attacks, increase speed so that Spreading Fury rulesets can be useful, and increase HP. The chances of winning will increase even more. | |
| First (Tank) | Taunt, Dodge | Legendary Neutral monsters are very suitable for tanks in this battle because if Enrage is active this monster will be difficult to touch by Ranged and Melee monsters. With the addition of 1 speed from the summoner and Dodge ability will increase the chances of miss attacks, Only Magic attack can penetrate this monster. | |
| Second (Second Tank, Attacker) | Void | After getting buffs from summoners, this monster will have 3 magic attacks, very suitable as an attacker. In addition, this monster has a very high speed and void ability and large HP, so when playing a dead tank, this monster will replace it with a strong tank. | |
| Third (Attacker) | Blast | Flagulon Reine's companion attacker, after getting a buff, will have 3 magic damage and Blast abilities that will destroy the opposing team's defense. | |
| Fourth (Attacker) | Blast, Bloodust | The main character of this battle, an unstoppable killer. The main attacker, after getting a buff, will have 3 magic damage with Blast and Bloodust. I'm sure the combination of Valnamor and Flagulon Reine will make this battle very interesting and will defeat the opponent easily | |
| Fifth (Support) | Thank Heal | The most important support in my formation, because Thank Heal ability will restore the monster's HP in the first position (Tank). Although it has no attacks, but this is one of the cores of this game. | |
| Last (Tank) | None | Which monster is 1 with 1 Melee attack and 1 Armor. His position is oaling back as a tank that is the target of attacks from Sneak and Opportunity monsters if Coerl Lurker has died. |
You can see the line-ups from both teams in the picture above. Opponents using Summoner Zintar Mortalis which has a debuff of -1 Melee, with Cursed Windeku who has Thorn ability as a tank in the first position, Phantom Soldier at second position, Disintegrator with Demoralize ability that reduced melee attack at third position, Legendary Neutral Gladius Tatiana Blayde at fourth position, Undead Arched with Affliction ability at fifth position, and at last position Boogeyman with Slow ability.
I'm guessing that the opponent actually wants to give as much debuff as possible, by reducing 2 Melee from Summoner and Demoralize ability, also reducing the opponent's speed by stifling monsters with Slow ability. This is indeed the best staregy with Death element, but I think the placement of the monsters used is not optimal, there is a Ranged monster in front of the Magic monster, and the position of the Disinegrator behind the Phantom Soldier seems to me to be not quite right.
The Gladius that the opponent has, Tatiana Blayde is a very strong Gladius, and even this is also one of the Gladius I want. You can see stats from Tatiana Blaide in below:

The match begins with the giving of buffs and debuffs from all monsters and Summoners. This battle also runs very quickly, which is completed in 3 rounds. Well, let's review what this match looks like.
After getting buffs and debuffs from summoners and all the monsters, the total damage I had in 1 round was 2 Melee attacks, and 9 Magic attacks, excluding Blast from the Ruler of The Seas and Flagulon Reine. While on the opponent's side, the total damage in 1 round is 2 Melee attacks, 4 Magic attacks, and 3 Ranged attacks.
Djinn Oshanus became the first monster to get the chance to attack, and immediately activated the Enrage ability of Cursed Windeku. Furthermore, Tatiana Blayde who has the same Speed as Djinn Oshanus, got the opportunity to become the second attacker whose attack immediately activated the Enrage ability of Coeurl Lurker. Only Cursed Windeku died in this first round. Coeurl Lurker still held on until the end of the first round even though the remaining HP was very low.
Bloodust Tatiana Blayde was active after defeating Cuerl Lurker. However, it wasn't until the second round ended that Tatiana Blayde was defeated by Flagulon Reine and at the same time activated Bloodust from Flagulon Reine. At the end of the second round, the opposing team only Boogeyman left. It's clear that victory is on my side.
The match ended at the beginning of round 3. I won with 5 monsters left and only lost my main tank, Coeurl Lurker.
