Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post and today I wanna share my Battle Mage Secrets, Even Stevens rulesets. Actually, I got these rulesets several times, when this Challenge just came out I immediately prepared a battle that I would share to take part in this challenge. However, since I have been in poor health lately, I decided to finish this article when I feel better.
Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern battles on Gold leagues using my scholarship account with IGN nightmareinbone, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.
Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!
BATTLE PREPARATION
Challenge Rules
RULESET: Even Stevens
Description:
Only units with even mana costs may be used.
Battle Rulesets
The rulesets in this battle are:
- Super Sneak (All Monsters have the Sneak ability)
- Taking Sides (Neutral Monsters may be used in this battle)
- Even Stevens (Only Monster with even MAna cost may be used in battles)
- Mana Capacity 45
- Active Element Fire, Earth, Life.
Line Up and Strategy
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | +1 Magic | I chose to use an army of monsters from the Earth element because it coincided with the Daily Focus at that time, and the gold league Summoner I had was Obsidian. Obsidian's +1 Magic buff will increase the damage of the magic monsters I will use. | |
| First | Dodge | This monster is a Soulbound Reward card that is actually a small damage, but has a large HP and has the ability to Dodge. I chose this monster as a tank in the first position for that reason. But because of Super Sneak rulesets, melee other monsters that usually act as the main tank will help the attack as well as a backup tank. | |
| Second | Double Strike, Trample | I positioned Grund in the Tank because my goal is to use this monster apart from being a second tank as well as the main Attacker because it has 4 melee damage with Double Strike and Trample. Of course this will be a perfect weapon of destruction | |
| Third | Thank Heal, Affliction, Silence | The Goblin Psychic in third place is one of the most important supports because of his aility. Of course, the Thank Heal ability that restores the monster's HP in the first position will be very helpful in defense, as well as Affiction which if active hits the target, it will make target no longer able to Heal. In addition, the Silence ability that reduces the magic damage of all enemy monsters is also very useful. | |
| Fourth | Protect, Amplify, Triage | Queen Mycelia is another monster support besides Goblin Psychic, where Protect and Triage abiliy are needed in this battle. Super Sneak rulesets allow all Melee monsters to have Sneak abilities, this means that the monster in the last position will be the target of the opponent's monster. With the Triage ability that will restore the HP of other monsters that are not in the first position, the back defense will also be stronger. | |
| Fifth | Thorn, Backfire | Venari Knifer who is in fifth position has a role as an attacker as well as a second tank rear position. This monster has the ability Thorn which acts as an antimelee sabai. In addition, this monster also has a very high speed and Backfire ability, so if the opponent's monster misses hitting this monster, the attack damage will turn towards the monster. | |
| Last | Shield, Giant Killer | I sold this monster a tank to Sneak monster, because it has Shield ability, Reduced damage from melee and ranged attack. |
I was very surprised when the line-up of both teams was displayed. Viola.... And here is the line-up of both teams.
The opponent uses Summoner Grandmaster Rathe, with 2 melee monsters in the front and last positions, 1 Magic monster in second place, and 3 rage monsters. Chaos Knight became the opponent's main tank, the second position was Time Meddler, the third position was Evangelits, the fourth position was Prismologist, the fifth position was Pelacor Arbalest, and the last position was Crystal Jaguar.
At first glance I saw that I had a wrong strategy, and maybe I would lose this battle. I thought the opponent would focus on attacking the rear tank, but it turned out that the opponent's attack instead focused on the monster in the first position. What do you think? Do I still have a chance to win? Let's jump into the Battlefield Arena!

If you look at this battle to the end, you can see that I can win this battle, even though my strategy is actually not very effective. This is The difference in the glory that I got was also very thin, and in the last round there were only 1 vs 1 monsters left. My victory was solely due to the last monster from the opposite side being the Range monster. Ok, let's take a round-by-round look at this battle.
As usual, the first round begins with party buffs from all summoners and monsters. It can be seen that the two teams are not much different, only The first attacker of the imi battle is Venari Knifer with the highest speed. It didn't take long for the first monster to die, the Crystal Jaguar, because of the successive attacks of Venari Knifer and Grund. I still haven't lost a single monster in this first round.
The second round began, it didn't take long for my tank Terraceous Grunt to die from the opponent's range troops. My Grund also got the Giant Killer from the Chaos Knight so it didn't take long to die. With both tanks dead, it was as if there was no defense anymore. Luckily none of my monsters died in this round. On the opposing side, Chaos Knight and Pelacor Albarest also died at the end of the second round.
When the third round started, it didn't take long for the Goblin Psychic who was in the first position to die. Then followed by Queen Mycelia who also died immediately with one attack from the Evangelist. Luckily Mycelic Inferny's attack at the end of the third round hit the Prismologist right. Now both teams have 2 monsters left.
The fourth round of the match was controlled by the opponent, because Venari Knifer who was in first place only had 2 HP left, while Mycelic Inferny's attack even missed hitting the Evangelist.
The fifth round begins, Venari Knifer dies from Time Meddler's attack, while Mycelic Inferny's attack misses again. On the opponent's side, there are still 2 monsters left, while I only have Mycelic Inferny left.
The Sixth Round was still on the opponent's side, Inferny's mycelic HP was running low, while his attack was again missed. The difference in speed and Dodge ability of Time Meddler really makes Mycelic Inferny difficult.
Finally, Time Meddler died in the seventh round, with this the only remaining opponent monster is the Evangelist who is a Range monster. This means that the opponent has lost, because it will no longer be able to counterattack.
This battle ended in the 10th round after the Evangelist died. I narrowly won with only one monster left with 2 HP left. You can see the final result of this battle in the picture below.
STRATEGY DISCUSSION
Although I won this battle, my strategy was not very effective in this battle. Super Sneak rulesets made me only focus on the rear tank defense, and the front tank I chose was not that strong. I think this is a mistake, I should still consider the possibility of the opponent attacking from the front or back. Supply tanks are necessary but front tanks are more important.
