Hello Everyone!
I came back with my post, taking a little of my time so that I could publish my writing as soon as possible. My hope is that I can hone my writing skills by regularly posting at least 2x a week but it turns out that it is very difficult to do that. Fighting laziness is really hard, hahaha 😄😄😄
This is a Weekly Battle Challenge post, with the theme Magi Of Chaos. This is a Neutral Monster that you can use during battle as support for all elements. I will share one of the battle strategies that I did using this monster. You can also read the battle strategy that I posted not long ago using one of my favorite monsters from the Riftwatchers edition Defense and Attack, AGOR LONGTAIL.
Well let's discuss what Magi Of Chaos looks like, and how the battle strategy I'm going to use.
MAGI OF CHAOS
The Magi of the Chaosium are the heralds of the Legion itself. For hundreds of years they met and studied in secret, gathering ancient artifacts and scraps of forbidden knowledge, much that was once thought lost. As the convergence grew close they plied the void for its treasures and listened furtively to the voices in the dark to make way for the coming of the Lord of Chaos. Once the way was opened and doom poured from the sky they rose from their hidden places to claim the promise of power from their dark masters.

Edition: Chaos Legion
Rarity: Epic
Element: Neutral
Attacks: Magic
Abilities: Oppress
Mana Capacity : 6
Magi of Chaos is one of the neutral monsters that I use the most. This is because this monster can be used in battle low mana, middle mana, and high mana. Magic attack with mana 6 with 2 damage at level 1 is quite good for battles in the novice to silver leagues. of course, the level up of this monster can be stronger, especially at level 5, oppress ability is already active, making this monster a favorite. Let's see what the stats of this monster look like:
You can see that Level 3 of this monster already has 3 magic damage. If this monster is combined with Obsisian, it will certainly be very strong because once attacked it can deal 4 damage magic. Ability Oppose active at level 5 or in the Gold league.
BATTLE PREPARATION
Rulesets:
- Equalizer (The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest best Healths)
- Broken Arrows (Ranged attacks Monsters may not to be used in this battle)
- Mana Capacity 54
- Element Actived: Water, Earth, Death, Dragon
The strategy I will use in this battle is to focus attacks on 1 target with the aim of killing the opponent's monsters as quickly as possible to reduce the number of attacks received. I always use this strategy on the Equalizer ruleset because I think it is the most effective way to win. In addition, I will try to break up the opponent's attack by placing 2 tanks in front and back. Tanks with Taunt ability are the right choice to be placed in the rear position. In addition, I will also use Healing support. Monster ranged attacks cannot be used in this battle, so there will only be magic and melee attacks. monsters with demoralize abilities I will use, and Legionaire Alvar will be the right choice as a Tank. I should have also brought a monster with a magic debuff, but since I don't have a monster with silence ability, at least the tank I use must have a Void Armor to survive a long time from magic attacks. The line up and strategy of each Monster at each position will be shown in the table below:
| Monster | Position | Strategy | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | Quix The Devious Level 3 with ability -1 Range and -1 Speed. Although debuff -1 range is useless in this battle, -1 speed is very useful in lowering the opponent's speed, so the probability of winning will increase. | |||
| First (Tank) | Legionaire Alvar level 3 with ability Void Armor, Giant Killer and Demoralize have 9 void armor, I think this is going to be a hard-to-break through tank. Demoralize ability will reduce melee attacks all of enemy monsters, its mean this will reduce a lot of the opponent's attacks. | |||
| Second (Attacker) | Carnage Titan level 2 with Reach and Double Strike ability. Although its not max level Gold, but this monster is quite good at acting as an attacker with 3 melee attacks whose number of attacks becomes 6 because of the Double Strike ability. This monster also have 7 armor that mean when Legionaire Alvar was died, this monster is also quite powerful if it acts as a tank. | |||
| Third (Attacker) | I choose one of Water element monster with Opportunity and poison ability, Deeplurker level 7. Although there is a possibility that this monster has a different target from other monsters, but the poison ability will be very useful to reduce the healths of the opponent who is the target of this monster. | |||
| Fourth(Attacker) | Magi of Chaos level 4, Play monsters from this battle, with 3 damage magic being one of the most important attackers to defeat the opponent. | |||
| Fifth (Healer) | Spirit of Hoarder level 1 with Triage ability. even though it's only level 1 and has 1 magic damage but this monster is very important in this battle because it is a support to heal my rear tank. | |||
| Last (Tank) | Agor Longtail level 2, with Taunt ability as back tank. This monster has a dual role, that is as a tank and as an attacker. With Flying, Taunt and Void Armor very supportive as a tank. By quartering the Taunt monster in the back position, the target of the attack of the opponent's monster will be divided into 2 so it doesn't just attack the monster in the first position. This will allow the tanks I have to last longer. |
WHEN THE BATTLE BEGIN...
Wow, the opponent uses Kitty's Byzantine summoner, with an army of monsters a combination of dragon, death and neutral elements. Opponents also use Legionaire Alvar as a tank, with Scavo Hireling support that has Repair ability. han is longer because the attack target of the opponent is scattered. The opponent also uses the Snipe and Sneak combine. Despite the difference in levels, I think the deck array I have is stronger. It's just that the ability of Kitty's Byzantine to give +2 Speed and Thank Heal may be troublesome and get unexpected results. What was this battle like? let's see the video I took from youtube below:
The battle starts from buffs and debuffs (nerfs) of all monsters and summoners. The average speed opponent is higher than my monster, so I have to defend first before I can counterattack.

Battle Link direct
I Round#1 Legionaire Alvar gets attacks from Legionaire alvar and Carnage Titan from opponents, while Longtail's Agor receives attacks from Magi Necrosi and Dhampir Infiltrator. Chaos Dragon delivers attacks on erratic targets due to scattershot ability. My Agor Longtail.
Epic moment from Round#2 when the Legionaire Alvar of the opponent died. it seems that the strategy I used is going according to plan, that is, to eliminate the opponent's monsters as soon as possible. In 2 rounds 1 the opponent's monster died 1. My Agor Longtail, who previously had a little HP left his HP, increase again after getting a heal from triage ability.
End of Round#3 Carnage Titan died. Round#4 Start with Magi Nacrosi get heal as a thank, but it hasn't come to the end of Round#4 that this monster is dead. There are 3 monsters left on the opponent's side, while on my team is still with a complete formation.
Finally, the first monster of my team died in Round #5. But at the end of this round the opposing monster died again 1. There are only 2 monsters left on the opponent's side, it is obvious that it is very difficult to turn the tide. My victory is in sight.
This battle ended in Round#9 with a victory on the side. You can see the final result of this battle in the picture below:

STRATEGY DISCUSS
The strategy I used is still working well in this battle, according to what I planned from the beginning. In the Equalizer ruleset, it will be more effective to concentrate 1 target than to divide the attack to several monsters. This is because all monsters have the same HP where if we divide the attack into several targets it will take a long time to kill 1 monster. If we concentrate on 1 target, then our attack target will die quickly and that means it will reduce the number of counterattacks we will receive. If possible, we must also bring monsters with healing and affliction abilities so that the opponent's mosnter cannot be healed. In addition, considering buffs and debuffs is also necessary, as much as possible give as many debuffs as possible to the opponent.
I LIKE MAGI OF CHAOS?
Sure, Magi of Chaos is one of the neutral monsters I use the most. Neutral monster with 6 mana and 3 damage in the gold league and having 6 more HP I think is very good. This monster can be used in battle in various rulesets and mana.
