A Message from the Cabal Lord
I don't know if you folks know this, but I have many names. Let me see how many I can remember:
- Sheriff
- Downvote Mafia Boss
- Aircon
- Aircorn
- Cabal Lord (my personal favorite)
I must be missing a whole lot of them, please help me put together a more comprehensive list, will you? :)
A cabal is a group of people who are united in some close design, usually to promote their private views or interests in an ideology, a state, or another community, often by intrigue and usually without the knowledge of those who are outside their group. The use of this term usually carries negative connotations of political purpose, conspiracy and secrecy. It can also refer to a secret plot or a clique, or it may be used as a verb (to form a cabal or secretly conspire).
I had a group of individuals back in the days who didn't like how hive governance and voting worked. This was right after the hard fork from steem. They hated it so much that they exited and created their own 'cabal' which is called blurt :) Clearly that token is just dust today, but it was worth the drama. Some of you may still remember that drama. The reason I brought this up is because these days I begin to hear a similar but much gentler complain about the existence of a 'cabal' at Splinterlands. My point is if the cabal exists, there must be a lord of that cabal. Who can be a better candidate than me?!
There you have have it, that is the history of my honorary title :)
SPS Governance Proposal: Cryptomancer Episode
I will follow the American way to address here, which is:
- Tell audience the answer first
- Tell them how you arrive at the answer
- Tell them the answer again:)
I know Europeans hate this way of communication, but since this is the way now most of the businesses communicate, this is the way we will communicate. Here we go:
The propsal will have my vote
Why? Because we don't have a choice. Oh you think we do. Fine. Write it up.
Do I think it is expensive? No, I absolutely don't. If it was upto me, I would have paid a bit higher hourly rate. Why? Because I always like to pay top of the market. That is why I stay at the JW Marriott and not at Four Points. Sorry for the toungue and cheek, in fact I am staying at the JW Marriott right now :)
Special treatment every single time!

Do we have other ways to raise $14K a month? Yes we do. has a suggestion here.
please have a look and suggest this to Matt. Brave infact did placement suggestions too which are not invasive at all. I am fully supportive of this and so are top stakeholders.
Do we think Matt cares where this $14K/month comes from? No, he doesn't.
Will Matt support the 'adsense'? I don't know, he should. That is why we are discussing this.
Should the community be worried? I am not.
Can communication on this could have been better? Yes, it could have been better. However, it is out now, so it is water under the bridge. Next time Matt can do better.
Do I think we can find a better developer at a lower cost? If we do, do we hire that person? Yes we can find a cheaper developer, and NO we shouldn't hire him/her, because of continuity of the project.
Do I think Mancer should work on Land? Yes. But what I think doesn't matter. Matt makes the technical calls as he should. Also we can't just ask a dev to do something, and then in 2 weeks ask him to do something else. That is called:
running around like headless chicken
We don't want to do that.
There you have it. I will vote for the proposal to show support and allocated funds. Simultaneously we should investigate the 'adsense route' and implement it ASAP.
