Let’s consider one battle from this brawl involving a gladiator.

So Hugo is just holding back. And he does it very successfully. Healers help him in this.

No one opponent was personally defeated by Hugo Strongsword in this battle. Therefore, his ability Bloodlust was not activated. And he didn’t get the extra stats.
