First Impressions of Cloveria Morth'lana
Greetings everyone and welcome to another Splinterlands post. I know it's been a while but I was going through a bit of a funk and not posting very much, I'm over it now and am back at it. Today we will be talking about a new card that will only be available via vouchers called Cloveria Morth'lana. This new card has numerous abilities and is quite strong, we will be getting into why this card is strong shortly with an in depth analysis of it's abilities and their synergies.
Abilities and Synergies
This card has the following abilities at maximum level:
Recharge – Attacks every other round but deals triple damage.
Ambush – Takes an extra turn prior to the first round of battle.
Camouflage – Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. Does not affect indirect attacks (e.g. Scattershot, Blast splash damage, or Trample) or Wingbreak.
Double Strike – Attacks twice each turn.
So essentially this card cannot be hit very easily despite being a low HP unit. The combination of ambush recharge and double strike is quite serious firepower and can devastate even the largest of units. Ranged attack means that it can only attack from any position aside from 1rst position, which is probably where you want to place this unit anyway since camouflage only activates when outside of first position anyway. This card also doesn't attack every turn, but it DOES ALWAYS fire a recharged when it does attack on the first round. Where normally it would have to wait a turn to do so. That's huge . It creates a massive amount of firepower that is almost guaranteed to go off at least once, two shots of 12 damage is huge and takes out almost every unit in the game that doesn't have additional abilities.
How to get it? Where to buy it?
This card can be purchased with vouchers directly from the Splinterlands store once it is released and will only be available for a limited window. This means that you should definitely get it sooner rather than later if you intend to add this card to your collection. Vouchers can be purchased with DEC and other currencies and are also awarded to those who stake SPS. The sale launches Thursday, December 18 and runs for 90 days. Each card will need 8 Alchemy potions per card to increase the drop rate.
Purchase 50 cards at once to get a guaranteed GOLD FOIL card!
If you use Alchemy potions, the guaranteed odds are 1 in 25. This card will cost 250 vouchers per unit, which is pretty heft considering but worth it to the dedicated collector I'm sure.
Talking Tidbits: Too Rich for my Blood
This card is definitely out of my current web3 gaming price range (I'm toning it back across the board in general), but that doesn't mean the card isn't worth it. It's just not worth it to me as it currently stands. This isn't a dig at Splinterlands in particular either, I'm just not putting stuff into web3 gaming right now across the board aside from what I earn in game. You definitely should buy this card if you are being active and competitive in Splinterlands, it's really strong and murders a lot of meat shields that have been printed that are completely ludicrous.
