So for this past Guild Brawl, one of our co-leaders for Hive Revolution, challenged our guild to win our fray undefeated to win a Chaos Legion Pack.
Now as a person with a small CP (22k natural) and only Level 1 cards, I decided to take up the challenge and try to win as many battles as I can! It was my first time renting out cards to play in the Guild Brawl, and the fray I joined was the Silver League - Untamed Only.
I wasn't really expecting much, since the cards I'll be renting would only be Level 1 (definitely underleved for Silver), but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Here's the rental list, for those wondering:
| Card | Rental Cost | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| Magnor | 9.9 DEC/day | Sometimes he can tank the whole enemy team (with the right ruleset) all by himself. |
| Phantom of The Abyss | 17.7 DEC/day | Amazing synergy with both of the summoners above - he's gonna be pretty much un-hittable unless the opponent also has True Strike or Magic damage. |
| Lir Deepswimmer | 9 DEC/day | Anti-Yodin and the Blindness really makes a difference |
| Thunderbird | 0.723 DEC/day | Little League + Earthquake preparations |
| Chanseus the Great | 8.4 DEC/day | His abilities can sustain whole Life teams by himself. |
| Gorlodon | 0.882 DEC/day | Death secondary tank, amazing in Reverse Speed. |
| The Vigilator | 6.283 DEC/day | Just one of my favorite cards to use (along with War Chaang) in rulesets with Melee Mayhem, Equal Opportunity and Super Sneak. |
| Dragon Jumper | 8.5 DEC/day | His natural speed and base attack can hit monsters before they have a chance to act. The Flying ability also adds added miss chance. |
| Byzantine Kitty | 27.150 DEC/day | All her abilities are amazing. Just not good in Reverse Speed. |
| War Chaang | 0.90 DEC/day | In rulesets without Dragon Splinter available, this is my go-to for Melee Mayhem, Equal Opportunity and Super Sneak. |
| Cornealus | 17 DEC/day | Heal with high base HP can sometimes win battles through fatigue. |
| Chain Golem | 14.8 DEC/day | A solid Neutral tank. Can't go wrong with putting him in front. Gets boosted by both summoners. |
So in total, I've spent only 111.338 DEC for this brawl. The other cards in Untamed that I use often that aren't part of the starter sets are Beatrix Ironhand (currently $7) and Hero of Beyond (currently $12).
Our Guild also has Barracks Level 2, which means we can use our Gladiator cards! You can only use 1 per battle, and here's a picture of all the Gladius cards I have.
Anyway, on to the story. I mean, I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't win undefeated right? I had 7 opponents in my Fray, and luckily the one from an Immortal Gods guild fled the battle.
Here are the replays of each battle and a short description of them:
| Battle Links | Mana / Rulesets | What happened? |
|---|---|---|
| Battle 1 | 42, Explosive Weaponry, Lost Legendaries | Chanseus kept my tank and backline alive as much as possible. Snipe and Opportunity use here for maximizing Blast damage, despite having a lower speed than the opponent. |
| Battle 2 | 40, Close Range | Llama Kron vs Kitty Life Leech. The battle ends in fatigue and you can guess who won. |
| Battle 3 | 36, Even Stevens | Kitty Cornealus is the MVP here. I tried to put Trapp Followay as a 2nd tank to rack up as much Bloodlust as he can, but the higher leveled monsters on the opponent's team made it very hard. Again, won in fatigue. |
| Battle 4 | 24, Super Sneak | Tried Trapp here because I could use his Speed advantage with Bloodlust, and he can attack from the 2nd Position here. Paired it with War Chaang at the back end for Retaliate chance. |
| Battle 5 | 26, Back to Basics | Kitty here with a Kotriphus Bayne because of his 12 base HP. I put Chain Golem as a secondary tank, just in case the damage is enough to out-Heal Kitty. I forgot it was Back to Basics when I was surprised Bloodlust didn't trigger. Opponent actually had a similar lineup, but didn't have enough sustainability. |
| Battle 6 | 12, Silent Summoners, Little League | Trapp Followay is so good in Little League. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see him get bigger because this was all over in one Round. |
All in all I guess there was still some luck involved with my Fray, but I'd like to give myself a pat on the back for a job well done. I will definitely try to do this again for our next brawl!
With this, I'd really like to encourage people who are not yet part of a Guild to look for a community, instead of just looking for some random guilds. Communication is important, and without our guild leaders, ,
and
, I wouldn't have been part of this amazing guild.
I'd like to also shoutout for inspiring me to blog and also be a part of HIVE Revolution.
Good luck to the rest of you, and may your rewards chests always contain gold foil legendaries.
