Overview
Welcome back Splinterlands battlemages to another edition of "For Guild & Glory," my brawl report series covering all the action from my three accounts: in Tier 4 with
from the Kingdom of Glory [KoG] alliance,
in Tier 3 with the
alliance YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) and
in Tier 3 with the always lively
. You can see my last report for Brawl #149 here.
Just a quick note to my readers that I am finally safe and sound back in Brooklyn, NY, USA for a few days before I head back out on the road for two weeks in Las Vegas for the always festive Electric Daisy Carnival. Now that I'm a bit more settled, on to the Brawl Report!
DuceCrypto & Shield of Glory
For this landmark Brawl #150, Shield of Glory asserted its dominance over the Tier 4 competition, taking first place by 17 wins over second place Team Possible and 26 wins ahead of third place Peakmonsters [Champs]. Our record of 101 wins and 36 losses earned us 186 crowns, 10629 merits, and 182 SPS.
As expected with our dominant performance, we had five players in the guild with flawless frays: ,
,
,
, and
(who oftentimes does not end up in the Top 5 picture while handling the exclusive Fray 21 - Gold Foil Diamond League). I finished 5-2 defending my typical Fray 18 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League without renting any cards this cycle.
One of my losses did come against from the runners-up guild in a 57-mana, silent summoner battle. The battle conditions also included no neutrals and return fire, so neither of us was able to use the full mana for our team selection, which makes the strategy of the lineup even more important. My opponent's choice of Swamp Spitter and its repair ability was the difference. My other loss came against
of fourth place Plan B, who dominated me with Katrelba Gobson in this 31-mana even monster battle. Archangl has bested me in a few battles recently, so I definitely need to step my game up in this matchup.
TreyCrypto & YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir)
After a humbling third place finish for Brawl #149 in Tier 3, YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) returned to its winning ways for the landmark Brawl #150 with a dominant win. With a final record of 99 wins and 31 losses, we finished 25 wins ahead of second place MAS- Mythrel Arts Studio and earned 126 crowns, 7000 merits, and about 58 SPS.
Just like Shield of Glory, YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) also had five undefeated brawlers for this cycle: ,
,
,
, and
. Defending my preferred Fray 16 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League, I was nearly able to join the list of undefeated but I lost a single battle to end with a 5-1 mark.
My lone loss of Brawl #150 came to of Landstreicher in a 59-mana, melee-only super sneak battle. Despite the disadvantage of my opponent playing their Level 2 rare summoner against my Level 2 legendary summoner, I could not overcome the thorns provided by my opponent's Mylor Crowling even with the more powerful monsters of my Jacek fire team. For sure this was a frustrating battle to lose, especially since I don't have access to Mylor on my account and will always be an underdog in a melee-only battle.
Shaelien & The 420 Syndicate
Rounding out my three brawling accounts is Shaelien with The 420 Syndicate, and my original guild also improved its performance in Tier 3 for Brawl #150. We actually finished level on wins with fifth place THGaming Brawlers, but due to having six more losses than them, we slotted into sixth place with a final record of 47 wins and 49 losses. Our performance was good for 44 crowns, 2200 merits, and about 31 SPS.
It took a bunch of teamwork to move up the standings, but special thanks to with a guild-leading 7-1 record,
at 6-3 and
at 5-2. Regrettably, I let our guild down defending Fray 10 - Modern Gold League with a poor 2-5 record. With just one more win, we would have moved up to fifth place.
Again, I turn my attention to a tough loss - this time against of the guild we finished behind on tiebreakers. We faced off in an 18-mana battle with three battle conditions. I was blinded a bit by trying to jam Chimney Wallstop into my lineup and eventually lost to all the thorns damage dealt by his tank, Cursed Windeku. This is just one of a few losing battles this cycle that came down to my narrow-minded lineup selection, so I need to do better to help out the cause and move us further up the standings.
The Gladius Cases
I opened a total of 12 Gladius Cases after Brawl #150; Duce had six, Trey had four, and Shae had two. Despite using 50 power stones for Duce and Trey, I only opened a single Gold Foil. But it was very impactful, allowing Duce to combine its Gold Foil Captain Katie to Level 4!

New Brawl Preview
Brawl #151 brings another big challenge for Shield of Glory in Tier 4, as there are three other Top 10 guilds in the group: Immortal Gods, [RKO] Outta Nowhere, and our allied guild [KOG] Guardians of Glory. We have beaten all three of these guilds in the past, but we will need to bring our A-game to emerge victorious from this group.
For the first time in Tier 3 that I've been brawling with YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir), we are not the top-ranked guild in our group. We will have to beat The Wizards, which is five spots above us and ranked 20th. The 420 Syndicate comes into Brawl #150 ranked last out of the nine guilds in its Tier 3 group and has five Top 100 guilds to contend with, so it will take some skilled battling to earn a finish in the top half.
And there you have it - an awfully successful Brawl #150 across the three guilds I battle with. Thanks for spending some time with me and reading my brawl report. Happy battling and I'll catch you in the Splinterlands.
