Hi Fellows Splinterlanders,
I started this fantastic game 20 days ago and after a long research I have managed to peak Gold 3. Not claiming to be Rank1, but I have done this by spending less than 12$USD (per Season) in rent and 30$ USD in cards.
I thought that many of you would be happy to have some help so here I am: Dr. Estiqaatsi the Wannabe Splinterlands Expert.
This will be a series of blog post in which I want to teach you how to improve and learn more about the game.
When I started there were so many things I wanted to discover about this game: DEC, SPS, Cards, Return of Investiment. I have invested my time to get more knowledge and I want to share my experience with all of you. Hoping that you can follow my journey and reach my same goals.
In this 1st post I will address the most common question that every starter could have about the game.
Q1: Is it too late to jump into Splinterlands? I will make it easy and fast: NO. It is not and it will never be.
The market is in a really good state, there are brand new packs for everyone (General sale in January) so THIS is a perfect moment to start. Learn the game between today and January, then try to get your best cards with your packs!
Q2: Should I start buying my cards? No and Yes. No, you should not jump straight away into cards, use the rent functionality of Peakmonster. It can be very useful to spend few cents, test out the cards you like the most and once you master a combo, fall in love with a summoner go and get it! **Is renting worth it? Rent is the best thing it could ever happen to a card collectible game.
**
Q3: What is the best deck? There is no best deck in Splinterlands, there are strongest compositions, meta and counters. Just like every other game you would have played before. A good way to learn is: get your daily quest, rent a few cards of that Splinter (earth, life, water bla bla) test your new cards and get that quest done! Always remember that your Summoner is gonna influence your playstyle.
Q4: Everyone talks about Return of Investment/Renting/Assets - Can I do that? It depends how much money you want to put in. If you are just an avid player (not investor) like me, focus on getting your goals done, collect your rewards, improve your gamestyle and slowly it will come the time to talk about ROI-renting out-buy and sell. For now we have one goal, destroy your enemy ;)
Q5: Everyone says DEC is not worth at the moment, I should stay Silver III bla bla.. For some aspect it is true, if you cannot affort losing 0.30/0.50 USD cent a day to stay in Silver 1-Gold III you should not.. but if you are new like me and you love this game, this quarter of coffee you spend everyday is worth the potion and reward card you are going to drop. January is close and you want those juicy potions and your daily rewards.
ATM: I am Gold 3 with a personal power of 1.3K, I rent 100+K + my deck sets for 2.50 USD a day with a return of 250-280 DEC + 1.5 SPS per day (100 SPS Staked and 10K+ DEC hold). So to me this is worth up to you.
SECRET BONUS: Splinterlands is an amazing game. Stop looking at it just as a ROI-P2E-Lambo game. In its simplicity this game can be really addicting and rewarding, and even if you are new and you do not have 1000 USD to jump into it, slowly you can build your game. No one is judging you to make Gold-Diamond with rented card and if it makes you feel good, JUST DO IT.
Your earned Reward card today will shine tomorrow, DEC&SPS are low, with few money you can get your stake for the future. All of this is not an investment suggestion, not a Financial Advisor. I would say if you believe in the project and enjoy the game like I do, play now, tomorrow and in 5 years. Slowly we will be the whales of tomorrow!
See you on my next post where I will talk about the cards I rented to make Gold in my 2nd Season of the game!
Your beloved
Dr.Estiqaatsi
