Hello fellow Summoners of Splinterlands! This makes my first ever post in splintertalk (and my first ever blogpost). Actually, I started playing Splinterlands back in late September 2021 and after playing for almost two months, I decided this would be a good time to share my experience as I play Splinterlands and more importantly get some timely advice (trust me, I need lots of advise...getting my arse handed back to me upside down more than half the time).
Before that, perhaps I can share a bit why I started playing Splinterlands. I came across this game as I was reading up on NFTs, trying to figure out what the hype is all about. When I saw Splinterlands, I knew I would love the game simply because it's similar to three other card based games that I loved, mainly Pokémon TCG, Magic and Hearthstone. Unfortunately, I stopped playing those three for a while now, Pokémon TCG and Magic got too expensive while Hearthstone is ruled by players that pump in cash into the game, so as someone who can't afford to lavishly spend on the game, I just lost interest.
Splinterlands rekindled the gaming spirit in me and got me excited about playing cards games again. Being the nerd that I am, I read through most of the items in the official Splinterlands documentation in https://docs.splinterlands.com/ for a better understanding of the game. This blog @mercurial9/comprehensive-guide-for-new-players-to-splinterlands-or-or-ep-13-or-or-splinterlands also gave me a pretty good introduction to the game. I also watched several video by , who by the way has some great videos on Splinterlands in my opinion, to better understand the game and the gameplay mechanics. Once I was comfortable with my understanding of the game, I finally bit the bullet, registered and bought the Summoner spellbook (I used the referral link from bulldog1205 but nothing happened...was something supposed to happen?). Being a big BIG wuxia fan, I decided on the name
hahaha :)
It took me less than half a dozen games to understand the game mechanics so the game is relatively easy to play for any newcomers. I'll keep exploring the game more and will share my ramblings here next time. Till then, fighting!!
