Another season is about to end on Splinterlands. It has finished for me, finally!
After two long and sometimes frustrating days, I reached Champions League, which is my target every season.
It was more than once during these past two days when I thought the history will repeat itself, and I'll end up in Diamond, after almost reaching Champions League more than once.
In retrospect, if I had pushed harder, I probably could have made it to CL3 a few days earlier, before the madness from the end of season. At one point, it seemed so easy to rank up and beat most opponents that I thought I will reach one league higher to CL2 after many seasons.
But that gave me a sense of confidence which was about to cost me the second miss of the seasonal target in a row.
In the end it didn't, but look at the cost:
I finished this season with a 22% energy capture rate, the lowest since I play Splinterlands.
Thinking back without the heat of playing the game I do spend a significant amount of time at the EOS to achieve my goal, and I set aside other activities which are also important.
What I'd like to do in future seasons is to reach CL3 sooner than the EOS and with lower effort / less time spent on it. If that means to take a break from completing daily quests during the EOS, so be it.
This season showed that it might be possible. There are of course lots of circumstances which affects the way the season goes, but I'll never know unless I put my mind to it.
What's your strategy during the season, if you want to share?
