Last week, together with Land 1.75, a new card purchasable by vouchers was introduced: the dual-element (dragon/death) rare magic-attack Kelan Gains.
I liked Kelan Gains since I saw it... I wish I had enough vouchers to buy enough copies to max it out, because that's when it's the most powerful, with its double strike ability added, but I didn't have.
In fact, I didn't have enough vouchers for 25 copies either, but I wanted 25 for the guaranteed GF.
My initial plan was to wait until I had enough vouchers through daily airdrops. but I'd have to wait over 2 months for that. Once I figured out the math, I didn't like that potentiality. For once, I might even forget to buy it, then, it might get replaced (although with the launch of Conclave Arcana, that's unlikely), plus the price may drop once many more get purchased. This is why I kind of regret not buying a Validator License at the right time, to get a ton of vouchers...
With these things in mind, I decided to buy 25 Kelan Gains cards now, instead of waiting.
I needed 280 more vouchers, and bought them with around 26.5 SWAP.HIVE. Now, I intend to get that HIVE back... which I wouldn't have to if I had all the vouchers.
So, why 25? Because I would have gotten a guaranteed GF, which I did. And 24 RF. So, I wasn't extra lucky to receive another GF. 😀
On the market a Kelan Gains GF is almost 16$, so to recoup my HIVE I need to sell my GF. I wouldn't have done this if I had all the vouchers, and would have kept the GF for my main play deck. But that is the situation.
Also, my idea was to upgrade the cards to level 2, where they pick up Phase ability, which I did. I ended up with 3x level 2 Kelan Gains, and 4x level 1s. I decided to put on the market the level 1s too, but not at the cheapest price, just in case. I guess I'd be ok either if they get sold at that price or if I keep them, although they are not enough to combine.
Interesting! Turns out one of my RF copies was already sold - which I had set at a slightly higher than market price - but not the GF one.
Did you buy any Kelan Gains copies? I admit I like this card more than the previous choices I could buy with my vouchers, where I bought - if I did - fewer copies, more as a collector than for their usefulness. Too bad it picks up its best ability at max level.
