I've just reached Champions League 3 not once, but twice this morning after starting close to the beginning of Diamond 1!
Why twice? Because I was "in the zone" and had a pretty good 8-streak in Diamond 1 and I pushed it one more game after reaching CL3 (not before claiming the rewards). Well, I lost that one pretty badly at the strategy level, but it happens. Looked lost from the beginning:
I played one more game afterwards and I was back in CL3. Then I stopped.
I don't remember in recent history when I was in CL3 this early in the season. That surely happened in the seasons when I reached CL2. Not to mention the 2 or 3 times when I was inches away from being in CL1. But those days are long gone. Now I'm generally pleased with CL3.
Which poses a question for me. What do I do in the following 3 days and a bit?
I already reached my goal for the ranked season. Do I keep playing attempting to reach CL2? That can be quite risky. Because when you are not happy with what you have, you might end up with less.
Frankly, knowing how difficult it has been for me to reach CL3 in recent months (sometimes during the last few hours, sometimes not at all), it seems a stretch to try to go for CL2.
It might be possible, but unless I see the same kind of consistent results at least a few seasons in a row, I won't take that chance.
What I'll do instead is to rent out my cards from the playing deck for the end of season. These are very powerful cards some of them, and I'm sure they will provide a much better ROI than continuing to play for the next 3 days.
As we know there is a renting craziness at the end of season, which means renting them out too early would be detrimental to me.
What I'll do is offer my teammates from the guild to delegate any card they want from me for about 24 hours for a chance they'll rank up. Then I'll take them all back and rent them out for the end of season.
That will also most likely mean that I won't play during the first day of the next season, because many cards will not have returned. We'll see what that means for the next season's results.
Never tried Splinterlands before?
Many decided to give it a chance long time after they heard about it. You might be surprised. If you are an investor, a gamer, a collector, an NFT or crypto enthusiast, this game and its ecosystem can be for you. This is my referral link if you decide to take the step.
