The Riftwatchers are coming
And the Splinterlands will never be the same
Hello Splinterlands Community!
The Riftwatchers cards finally has arrived to the game! Is everyone enjoying the new cards in the battle? Are you checking out every new cards into your existing lineup?
In this post, we'll quickly look the stats and abilities of each monsters specifically in the earth splinter and I will give my opinion regarding those monsters. I've already made a post for the fire and Water Splinter and I will continue to post the other splinter.
Regarding the summoners in the Riftwatchers set, I have made a post before regarding my opinion on each newly introduced summoners as well.
Disclaimer: All information below are based on my opinion and playstyle. Each player has its own opinion regarding these cards and I'm just going to share my opinion.
Bramble Pixie
My current owned highest level Bramble Pixie is a ★4 normal foil. Bramble Pixie is a great additionto the Earth Splinter especially that it is a common card.
Looking at the stats of Bramble Pixie, this card is pretty strong for a common card. It deals a high melee damage and a high health. Because of its stats, the reach ability is very compatible for this monsters. It can be a very good replacement for Orc Seargeant and Minotaur Warrior which have a reach but deals a low damage. Also in higher league, the healing is pretty good as well. A Pelacor Mercenary in the front followed by a Bramble Pixie, those two are a pretty strong frontline defense.
Usage: A secondary tank that can deal damage in the 2nd position. A strong support in the frontline. In my opinion, it is good for the Fog of War ruleset.
Here is a sample battle:
Rating: ★★★★
Lichen Beast
My current owned highest level Lichen Beast is a ★4 normal foil. I have never tried Lichen Beast in the production server but only in the QA server. Let's look at this beast.
Lichen Beast is next to Whelp Herder in terms of low mana cost for the Riftwatchers set. Looking at the stats of Lichen Beast, It does have a high attack and health with the enrage ability. I think that this card is a good substitute to Giant Hill if you have extra 2 mana.
In my opinion, this is a good tank in the lower league but I am not sure if this is great in higher league.
Usage: A good substitute in the frontline to Giant Hill, other than that I am still thinking its other use.
Rating: ★★
Uloth Dhampir
My current owned highest level Uloth Dhampir is a ★3 normal foil. In my recent battle, I usually use Uloth Dhampir mainly because of the Stun and high damage. However, Uloth is a slow monster.
Uloth Dhampir is pretty good to be included in the Earth Splinter. When a reverse speed is in the ruleset, I usually look for the Earth Splinter because there are a lot of slow monsters in this element. Uloth Dhampir bringing a solid 4 range damage with a stun is a good addition to the team. In higher level it can also do a triage which is good as there are other monsters from the Earth with Triage ability.
I do think that Uloth Dhampir is a great card.
Usage: A very powerful card that can be use in reverse speed ruleset and very compatible with the earth lineup. It can be use especially for heavy hitters.
The same battle link with Bramble Pixie. However the stun and knockout combination is not seen in the battle as the stunned monster died
Rating: ★★★★
Suidae Shaman
My current owned highest level Suidae Shaman is a ★3 normal foil. I haven't use Suidae Shaman as I am not fond of using a monster with the recharge but let's look at the bright side this card can offer.
Suidae Shaman I think is a good backline against high mana monsters. Imagine a 2 magic damage that is recharge to deal a 3x damage and then a giant killer which deals double damage against 10 or more mana monster. Will it be a 12 magic damage (2x3x2 = 12) or a 10 magic damage (2x3 + 2x2 = 10) against high mana monster? Suidae Shaman as well does have a high health so it won't be killed easily while doing recharge.
Usage: For a high mana match and expecting to have a lot of monster with more than 10 mana cost. Suidae Shaman could deal a very heavy magic damage to these monsters.
Rating: ★★
Runemancer Florre
Sad to say but my 150 RW packs does not contain any Runemancer Florre. Judging by the stats, Florre is a powerful which can deal a 4~7 damage each round.
Runemancer Florre does not have any ability but with the range and magic attack, this card is really powerful. Though it cost a lot of mana, this card stats is very high and can survive the match because it have a 13 mana. The speed is also great and very nice to have this monster especially with the back to basic ruleset.
Usage: In my opinion, Runemancer Florre is an all around monster and very suitable to the back to basic ruleset. Most of the Earth summoner is really compatible with Runemancer Florre, a last stand with Llama, a magic boost with Obsidian, a range boost with Prince Rennyn and Fernheart grants Runemancer Florre to attack in the first position.
Rating: ★★★★★
Verdict
I would say that almost all of the earth monster are good and very useful. My most favorite are Bramble Pixie, Uloth Dhampir and Runemancer Florre because these cards fits on my playstyle. A high damage monsters that is pretty strong. I am hoping that I can pull off Runemancer Florre in my remaining Riftwatchers pack.
Recently I am loving the earth splinter and given the additional cards, I would love the earth even splinter even more.
Thank you for reading and see you on the next post.
