Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I took advantage of the ruleset.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Equal Opportunity and Ferocity. This means that all monsters gain the opportunity and fury ability. There is also 77 mana available, and I can use fire and death splinter.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barthalamas | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed |
| Frankarsgard | 7 | 1st | |
| Great Bear Druid | 9 | 2nd | |
| Chaos Furybringer | 6 | 3rd | |
| Agniavan Salamander | 8 | 4th | Blast |
| Sturdy Axe Warden | 8 | 5th | |
| A'lan Musketeer | 8 | 6th | Double Strike |
| Total Mana: | 52 |
My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. I have Frankarsgard. After that are my melee monsters Great Bear Druid and Chaos Furybringer. Finally, I have my ranged monsters as my damage dealers.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I don't have a taunt monster, but my backline is all placed around damage. They have some health, but with the speed increase from my Archon, I should be able to deal damage before they die.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent may have a taunt monster, but it should die quite fast because of the fury. My opponent also has a decent setup, but I feel the lineup is skewed due to the ranged monster in the middle.
Round 4
A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 1 monster, while I still have 4. This is my win because it is unlikely for all of my monsters to miss their attack for multiple rounds.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. I avoided using a taunt monster and focused on damage with a speed archon. While I may not have had the level advantage, I was able to deal quite a bit of damage due to my opponent's weird lineup. The damage just added up, and that monster didn't work out that well for him.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
