Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Chaos Furybringer.
Featured cards
Chaos Furybringer is a fire splinter that costs 6 mana. This card has reach to start. Leveling this card increases its stats, and I find it as a fairly decent card to use in Foundational battles due to its fast speed, and it's one of the better backup tanks.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Holy Protection and Equalizer. This means that all monsters start off with the same health and they gain the divine shield ability. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use every splinter except for water and life.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barthalamas | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed |
| Frankarsgard | 7 | 1st | |
| Chaos Furybringer | 6 | 2nd | Reach |
| A'lan Musketeer | 8 | 3rd | Double Strike |
| Total Mana: | 27 |
My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. After that is Chaos Furybringer and A'lan Musketeer.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Chaos Furybringer is a perfect fit due to its low health but high stats in the other attributes. A'lan Musketeer was used because of the double strike, and it makes things die quite fast. With that, I only have 7 mana left so Frankarsgard just made more sense.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have the damage and speed advantage. It just depends on whether or not I can kill my opponent fast enough.
Round 6
A few rounds later, my opponent's lineup has just one monster left, and I still have two so this is my win because I have higher speed than my opponent.
I won the match as I expected.
Conclusion
The battle this time did go exactly as planned. Chaos Furybringer and A'lan were great damage dealers. In particular, Chaos Furybringer just worked well as a backup tank. I just had more damage and speed so my opponent was fighting an uphill battle.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
