THE SUMMONER
Ambush might be the better choice. Ambush is a game-changing ability which could allow additional turn prior to battle start. Players will have better chance to cripple the opponent formation especially the damage-dealer cards. More to it this summoner grant 2 (two) Ambush at once.
MELEE CHARGER
Mad Ogre Anarchist isn't also my primary choice for it deal a rather minor damage for quite some mana. Pallus and Mantaroth are the only 2 (two) cards which versatile enough to carry the formation. Pallus is a great combination of Tanker and Striker and a great choice for second row position with its Reach. Mantaroth have been a champion of all time. An 11 health with Shield is an unbreakable Tanker, but the most devastating power come from its Armor Strike which grant a total 3 damage times 2 at prime conditions.
RANGED ARTILLERY
We also gained 5 (five) new ranged cards. Redwyrm Hatchling stand in the mid between Tanker and Striker roles. Its 2 damage might fall short compared to Dhampir Stalker or the cheaper New Sskah Drudge. At least this card gained armor and Dodge to fortify its defense. Nimbledook Ranger is far below my expectation. Its true Double Strike is rare to get; but its not worth trade for 1 damage and 3 health, and still cost you 7 mana. Chaos Lackey is a bit better at least it cost only 4 mana and still own 4 health. Dispel is a rarely used ability which rather minor in value.
Drybone Bowdog is in between Nimbledook Ranger and Chaos Lackey. In one perspective it has Ambush and Scattershot which could caught you opponent in surprise. But with only 1 health provided, this card could barely become a glass cannon. Its somehow not worth it to risk 4 mana for such card. Great Porcupine is a very versatile ranged cards. For low mana cap battle having Close Range on low mana cards is useful to support firepower. In addition 3 health and 3 speed for 3 mana is something to be considered.
MAGIC WATCHER
BYSTANDER
Next, who would dare to pay 11 mana for a non-attack card?! But wait, don't underestimate Ulundin Overseer yet. I've used this card several time and the thick armor and health is something not to be taken lightly. And though Flank seemed a mere ability, but under this thick Tanker, Flank could turn your most deadly melee to breakthrough the front-line. Last but not the least is Grimbardun Smith, the card come from the promo of Rebellion release. I'm still doubtful on how to utilize this card fully. A 6 mana for 8 health with only 1 speed doesn't look tough enough and easily replaceable with other card. The only strong point of this card come when it gained Void and Shield at later level.
