Djinn Apprentices prefer to study under more powerful djinn to hone their magic. While not as strong or cunning as others of their kin, they are just as dangerous to untrained warriors.
When the Chaos Legion arrived, it had a diverse effect on the djinn. Not a unified race by any means, some chose to align with the Chaos Legion, some chose to defend against it, and others chose to go their own path and leave it all behind. Djinn Apprentices chose to align themselves with Djinn Inferni, believing in his mission and his vision.
The Djinn Apprentices kneeled before the powerful form of Djinn Inferni. The heat of the volcano was immense, but it did not affect these beings of fire and magic.
Djinn Inferni looked across the row. โDjinn Muriat has betrayed our kind. He has aligned himself with the foul Chaos Legion. He has corrupted the name 'djinn' and all it stands for. We will no longer sit in silence as his darkness spreads. It will take all of us to face him. Will you join me?โ
โWe will!โ the Djinn Apprentices exclaimed as one.
The Fire Splinter is a quite powerful race, but also expensive to rent. Yodin Zaku is an emblematic powerful Summoner (everyone wants of a copy of him ๐), but Tarsa is a cheaper and almost as powerful as the kitty. ๐ช Tarsa mostly operates with Melee โ๏ธ attack creatures and with the new *Riftwatchers expansion she got some nice help.
I do not really play with the Fire Splinter, because for me they always lacked the protection and support needed to survive the battle. They looks like a "glass canon" Splinter for me and I do not really like that. ๐
This week I had to overcome my feelings and play some games with the Djinn Apprentice! ๐
The Djinn Apprentice gives us not too much option for strategy and tactic, because he doesn't really have any abilities until level 6. The ability he gets is Deathblow, which will increase this monster damage by twice if his target is the only Monster left on the enemy team. ๐ค
This ability is not really useful (I do not even remember that I used it before), because if you have only one enemy on the other side and you still have the Djinn Apprentice alive you are most likely will win that battle with or without this ability.
It is worth renting him at least on Level 4, because he gets an extra Magic ๐ฎ damage, which is the most powerful damage type in this game.
Unfortunately he has only 4 and 5 Health โค๏ธ throughout his life, which is not too much to survive long enough.
| Ruleset | Description |
|---|---|
| Reverse Speed | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. |
| Close Range | Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles. |
Hint for the Reverse Speed: Try to pick monsters with 1 speed because they have the best chance of evading Melee and Ranged attacks. Beware of monsters with Enrage and Last Stand, these abilities increase speed when activated.
Hint for the Close Range: You can use high HP or high speed Ranged monsters at position 2 (or even at position 1 if it has Heal). Choose summoners that give a bonus to Ranged attack or to speed and then choose high damage Ranged attack monsters. Beware of the possibility that your opponent might pick Lir Deepswimmer as summoner or monsters with Return Fire. High HP and Heal is the way to go in this ruleset.
Tarsa
Tarsa is one of the cheap Summoner for the Fire Splinter. She cost only 4 mana and it is one of the cheapest on the rental market among the other Splinters. She gives +1 Melee attack damage and +1 Health to all of her friendly monsters.
It is worth to play only with melee monsters to get her buff to everyone, but it would makes it very predictable to setup against her for your opponent. ๐
Grum Flameblade
Grum Flameblade is a very strong tank. He has huge Health โค๏ธ and Armor with the Void Armor ability along with Void, which makes him more resilient against Magic attack creatures as well. The Bloodlust is a unique ability and exclusively belongs to the Gladius cards, but Grum managed to learn that. ๐ช
Every time he defeats an opponent, so making a killing blow, he will get +1 to all of his stats. The only drawback of Grum is that he is very very slow and it is difficult for him to hit his target.
Djinn Apprentice
The Djinn Apprentice is a Magic attack creature within the Fire Splinter and such he gets only +1 Health from Tarsa. He cost 5 mana and on Level 4 he increases his own magic damage by one to three, which is quite strong.
Sometimes it is worth bringing with Tarsa to surprise my opponent, who doesn't really expect a mage in the battle. ๐
Sand Worm
The Sand Worm is an old monster in the Splinterlands history. He is the king of the Sneakers, even tough he is very slow. (In a Reverse Speed ruleset he is a GOD)
If the Sand Worm left unattended he will pick up the enemy monsters one by one from the back of my opponent backline. He is quite expensive for 9 mana, but if you can hide him in your backline he will do a significant damage on the other team. ๐
Mordeus
Mordeus just came in with the new Riftwatchers expansion set and this is the first time that I am using him in a battle. He has a similar features like the Dragon Jumper just slower. He has a huge Melee attack and what makes him truly strong is the Opportunity, which will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health. ๐
Molten Ash Golem
I used the Molten Ash Golem in this battle, because he is slow and as a "meatshield" for the enemy "sneakers". He has huge Health, which gives time to my team to get rid of their backline quick. The Close Range ability allows him to perform ranged attacks from the first position as well. ๐
Doctor Blight
Doctor Blight is always needed to Poison (Attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied) and remove the heal from the enemy monsters, with the Afflicition ability.
He cost only 4 mana, which makes him an easy fit to any team and thanks to his Camouflage ability the enemy monsters can not target him unless he is the only monster left on my side of the battlefield. ๐
My opponent made a huge mistake to bring Quix the Devious to this battle, because there was a Reverse Speed ruleset and he removed one speed from my monsters. ๐
In a normal battle the result would have been different, but he brought fast attack creatures and mine was super slow. In this ruleset that means the opposite of that. I love when someone doesn't pay attention to the rules. ๐
In the first round I was damaging his Djinn Chwala and luckily my Grum Flameblade did the killing blow in the following round, so he could activated his Bloodlust. ๐ช
Two of my monsters (Mordeus and the Sand Worm) had +7 Melee โ๏ธ attack, which is a lot and they could even kill their Chaos Dragon as well without any problem.
The battle was a success especially, because my opponent completely ignored the ruleset and that mistake sealed his fate. ๐
