No, I was not one of the less than 500 people who purchased one of those precious cards of summoner Waka Spiritblade. costing 500 vouchers and 5000 SPS, it was way beyond my means acquiring it. Rentals of this deadly summoner who grants poison ability to all monsters in the line-up are currently also high, so i shall wait to use it on my side in combat. But I had the chance to battle against him on three occasions. And after destroying my team twice, I finally beat him! What's the trick? Or was it luck?

First, I noticed the opponent used Waka in all previous five battles, so it would not be a surprise if he deployed it yet again. And what's the best defense against poison? The immunity ability. So, I also chose Death Splinter to summon legendary reward monster Harklaw, which comes with shield and immunity from level two onward. I do not own one - I already got 10 legendary Djinns (Earth's and Water's) in my rewards, but no Harklaw! - but I do rent one.
To benefit from Harklaw's shield, I chose Zintar Mortalis as summoner, as he reduces Meele attack from opponent monsters by one. Added an Ooze to slow down the enemy. And two fast monsters with sneak ability: Silent Sha-Vi from Chaos Legion and Skeleton Assassin from Alpha/Beta.
The battle was not an obvious win, with some chance events (misses and failures to apply poison) that helped my prevail, despite misses by Harklaw that resulted in backfire by Riftwing.
