What if Death summoners had a quarrel between them and they wanted to resolve it? The question was pretty obvious could death kill death? This was something every death unit was curious to know about.
Waka Spiritblade was consulted by some notorious undead monsters, he suggested organizing a low mana battle between the most commonly found death monsters and he also put a stipulation for both parties to leave the summoners' abilities and effects out of the battleground.
Silent Summoners
This ruleset restricts the use of abilities and status effects by summoners, which means summoners can only bring units in a battle but they cannot use their abilities and apply status effects on monsters.
Additional Ruleset: Weak Magic
When this rule comes into effect in a battle, the magic damage will hit the armor of a monster instead of health, the magic attack will behave like a ranged attack.
BATTLE LINEUP
In this low mana-capped battle, I have selected common and rare monsters only. 3 monsters from the death splinter and 1 neutral monster will join this battle.
The following images and tables show the monsters used in this battle:
| LORDSHAH'S CARDS | OPPONENT'S CARDS |
|---|---|
| Jarlax the Undead (Summoner) | Thaddius Brood (Summoner) |
| Riftwing | Cursed Windeku |
| Creeping Ooze | Life Sapper |
| Life Sapper | Corpse Fiend |
| Soul Strangler | -- |
| -- | -- |

STRATEGY
This is a common strategy for straightforward battles that do not involve stealth units, the backline does 3 damage every turn and kills the main tank in almost 3 rounds, while the life sapper gains additional health points and becomes a tough enemy and hard to kill.
I have used Creeping Ooze to slow down enemy units, this way my units may have an attack advantage and less chance for enemy units to evade the attacks.
The best thing about this battle is that I have used a powerless summoner with no abilities that require only 2 mana, I have 11 mana available to use after selecting the summoner, and this way I was able to use 1 more card.
Summoner and Monsters in Action
Jarlax the Undead is an epic card that requires 2 mana to be inserted in the battle slot. He has no ability, buffs, or debuffs, but he provides some free mana to be used for adding 1 or 2 additional cards.
Riftwing is a nice support card that requires 3 mana. He has Flying and Scavenger abilities, Flying helps him evade some attacks, while Scavenger adds a +1 health point when any monster dies. He is used as a tank in low-mana battles.
Creeping Ooze is a neutral card, it casts a Slow spell and reduces the speed of enemy units. It is also used as bait for opportunity monsters.
Life Sapper stands in 3rd position, he possesses the 'Life Leech' ability, and each time he hits an enemy he adds health equal to the damage made. It is very difficult to kill Life Sapper when he gains a lot of health points.
Soul Strangler is a 3-mana card and has ranged attack. He deals 2 damage each round, although he is easy to kill because he has only 2 health at level 1.
BATTLE VIDEO
Even though it is a low mana battle, but this spans to 8 rounds. The reason is simple I had to kill a high health monster. You'll see how this battle unfolds in this YouTube video.

BATTLE COMMENTARY
Jarlax the Undead is laughing "Haha, Thaddius, how does it feel without powers?" and exhales putrid fumes from his mouth, "Look at me I carry no power yet I am more powerful than you."
"I'll show you my worth in the battle, do not underestimate me, you don't know me." replies Thaddius Brood in anger.
Rounds 1 to 3
Creeping Ooze splashes slime balls on every enemy unit making them slow by reducing their speed, now they may have less chance to evade the attacks.
Cursed Windeku and Life Sapper want to eliminate Riftwing because he holds them from attacking friendly backlines.
Life Sapper and Soul Strangler have done a good amount of damage to Windeku, now they need to land a few more damage to finish him. Life Sapper also becomes tough after stealing health from Windeku.
Riftwing is slain by Windeku, but now he is too weak to survive, "Windeku, prepare yourself to die permanently." says Jarlax and laughs.
Round 4
Enemy Life Sapper kills Creeping Ooze with his magic attack and friendly Life Sapper is ready to face Windeku, he knows how to kill Windeku.
"Death lord Jarlax, I have just killed Windeku, please accept his cursed corpse as a gift. states Life Sapper humbly.
"Good work Sapper, we are almost close to our victory, keep killing each one of them." exclaims Jarlax and orders Life Sapper to finish the battle.
Rounds 5 to 7
The battle stalls between both Life Sappers, but the enemy Sapper is losing his health quite fast as Soul Strangler uses his vampiric attacks on him.
Soul Strangler grins and says "hehe, that blood is quite delicious, it tastes like a cocktail of different blood groups."
Enemy Life Sapper is dead, all his blood is sucked by Soul Strangler, and his body lays on the ground.
Round 8
Jarlax floats around Soul Field "I know you are good bait, but we do not fall into foolish traps."
Life Sapper's magic attack is ready to end Soul Fiend's life, but he asks Jarlax "Dear death lord, allow me to define this battle and make you victorious."
Jarlax makes a hand and neck gesture which means 'okay to proceed'.
Life Sapper throws a powerful magic ball and kills Soul Fiend and proves that a death unit can kill another death unit.
"Death of a death." so says the death lord Jarlax the Undead.
STRATEGY OUTCOME ANALYSIS
This is quite a simple and basic strategy, I use it when I see previous battles of my opponents do not have any stealth monsters because if there are any stealth monsters then my backline would have not survived and there are good chances of losing the battle.
This strategy does not work all the time in low mana battles because low-health monsters can easily be killed by powerful opportunity monsters as well. So, always think twice before using this strategy, if you are confident that the enemy won't use stealth monsters then you should try this battle strategy.
The aim of this battle strategy should be to increase the health of Life Sapper, therefore we need to place cards wisely to give him chances to increase his health.
In a similar battle, I can replace Soul Strangler and Creeping Ooze with 2 different low mana cards Fallen Specter and Weirding Warrior, I can even try Venari Bonesmith, a similar card as Life Sapper but with 1 extra health.
Please, add your comments and enlighten me with your thoughts about this battle strategy, you can also tell me about measures to be implemented in this strategy to protect the monsters from stealth units.
