An integral part of the Splinterlands gaming world is Guild Brawl and collecting cards with the materials earned through it. For a long time, I had accumulated several Merits by participating in Guild Brawl. Today was the big day when I decided to spend my accumulated Merits and buy some Gladius Cases. The experience of opening these packs was very exciting, and honestly, my luck was good today. In today's article, I will share with you how I bought the packs from the Guild Store and what wonderful cards I got when I opened them.
After entering the Guild Store, I noticed the number of Merits and Crowns I had accumulated. I had 20,255 Crowns and 11,270 Merits at that time. The Guild Store has several options, such as Gladius Cases, Spy Glass, Blood Stones, and Power Stones. Since my main goal was to collect Gladiator cards, I went straight to the Gladiator Case section. Gladiator cards are usually Soulbound, meaning they can't be traded or transferred, but they play a huge role in Brawls and Ranked matches.
I decided to buy a total of 4 Gladius Cases at 2,000 Merits each. This cost me a total of 8,000 Merits. It's hard to describe the excitement that comes with buying a pack. I thought to myself, if I could get at least one good card or a gold foil card, then the effort would be worth it. But just buying the pack wasn't enough; I needed some additional equipment to increase the drop rate.
I spent a few more Merits to buy a 'Blood Stone' and a 'Power Stone'. Blood Stones basically double the chance of getting Legendary cards, and Power Stones increase the chance of getting Gold Foil cards. These charges are automatically used when opening each card. Since I had enough Merits in hand, I bought these boosters with an 8% Guild Lodge discount to get the maximum results when opening the pack.
After purchasing the pack, I went to the ‘Mana-Well’ section of Splinterlands. Here, the 4 Gladius cases I had purchased were stacked. The boosters, namely Blood Stones and Power Stones, were on top. As I prepared to open the packs, the graphics on the screen and the background music increased my excitement several times. As soon as I clicked on the packs, they started spinning.
When I opened the first and second packs, the cards were upside down on the screen. I kept flipping the cards one by one. Initially, I got some common and rare cards like ‘Witch of Warwick’, ‘Bertrol Gobson’, ‘Katrelba Gobson’ and ‘Chimney Wallstop’. Although these may seem like very ordinary cards, they also have their own utility in Brawl battles. However, my mind was looking for that desired legendary card.
As a result of the second pack, I got rare cards like ‘Alva the Crusher’ and ‘Relenor Cleaver’. I thought that today’s pack opening might end with common cards. But the real surprise was still to come. When I opened the third pack, I couldn’t believe what I saw.
The third pack was the best find of the day. I got a legendary card, ‘Sola Ranjell’ and an epic card, Quora Towershead’, in the same pack! Quora Towershead is a card that every Splinterlands player wants to have in their deck. Its amazing healing and bloodlust abilities can turn any match around on its own. I was so happy. But there was more to be surprised. When I opened the fourth pack, I got another legendary card, ‘Sola Ranjell’ and with it a gold foil ‘Hugo Strongsword’ card!
It was really a stroke of luck to get two legendary cards in a row and finally a gold foil card. Opening these 4 packs today was one of the best experiences of my gaming life. The proper use of Blood Stones and Power Stones may have played a big role in my victory. These new cards will increase the power of my Guild Brawl many times. Small victories like these in Splinterlands increase the interest in gaming. For those who are playing the game regularly, I would say be patient and open packs strategically; one day, your luck will also change like this.
