I have poured a new copper bar today and there is a contest for guessing the weight, as usual it is to be guesses in grams but only to 1 decimal place. The winner will get one sbi and for every 5 guesses I will add one more prize for the next closest guess.
Example 365.7 grams
To add a bit of fun to the bar I pr3ssed a 1976 half dollar into the clay.
Here is the molten copper in th3 mould and I am using a blow torch to slowly cool the copper bar.
Here is the bar still in the mould, and it is still bloody hot and I waited for a good few mins before dunking it into some cold water.
To clean the bar I used a stiff wire brush and then used my polishing wheel to make it a bit more shiny.
As you can see the definition is not really good, but it was something I was trying.
The same with this impression was rather lack lustre but it is what it is.
I can't show the sides as I have stamped the weight on the sides, but have fun guessing.
Last weeks contest winners
So there was only 11 entries which was a little disappointing but we can do better next time, there was no exact guesses so we have 5 winners each receiving 1 sbi each.
