THE SEARCH MIGHT BE OVER
Before everything, let me give a brief introduction about myself. You can call me Moz, I am a frustrated Hearthstone player who is currently exploring various NFT games. Prior to Splinterlands, I have played A LOT of video games. Most of these started with playing StarCraft: Brood War and Harvest Moon (not the most common combination, but hey it was fun). My experience with digital card games were mostly on Hearthstone, Gods Unchained, and Pokemon TCG.
For a while now, I've been searching for a blockchain game that I could potentially play in the long-term, then here comes Splinterlands. I started playing Splinterlands last week, and I LOVE THIS GAME.
NO MORE EXCUSE TO RANK UP
The part that I love the most in this game is that one strategy won't work all the time (or even in just few consecutive rounds), and the card rental system is also a major bonus. In most card games, it is quite common to hit a rank barrier if you are planning to play for free all the way. You can run the best F2P deck just to be smashed by an OP all legendary deck. For Splinterlands, I guess that won't be a problem (or at least I won't have that excuse). With the DEC generated from the grind, paired the much cheaper availability of good cards via the card rental system, I think it will be much easier (compared to other card games) to compete with players who have better cards. And hey, the game literally does not allow us to climb from our current league without higher value cards or enough power, so if I don't rank up, it's all on me.
CHALLENGING DAILY QUESTS
What I look forward the most is the opening of season chests, and second to that is the daily quest. As a "free to play" (I spent $10 for the spellbook) player, the anticipation of rewards from these chests give me a different kind of high. Although I hate playing some summoners (like the one I currently have), it makes it all worth it to complete 5 wins for the daily quest.
That's it for my short introduction. Please leave a comment if you have any suggestion or you would just like to chat. Let's all have fun!
