In this week Share Your Battle Challenge DRAGONS are in focus.
DRAGON SUMMONERS and MY OPINION
At the moment are 12 different Dragon Summoners available. Some of them are very expensive, because of Alpha, Beta or Promo Status.
Dragons are very flexible because they can be combined with every other Summoners monster cards. Depending on the Ruleset you can get advantage of the different Dragon Summoner Buffs for specific monsters or reinforce your Dragons with the right card from the whole available Card Pool.
While writing this post Brighton Bloom is the only Summoner what provides the flight ability and this can win you a match with Earthquake ruleset, where every non-flying monster takes 2 DMG each round.
Byzantine Kitty is a very popular and expensive card. Provides 2 Speed for different kind of Speed/Dodge builds, True Strike Ability so that your monsters can't miss and a Tank Heal. Because of this utility everyone wants a Kitty!
BATTLE LINEUP
This Battle was in Guild Brawl in the Silver Fray and I have chosen it because my opponent and I played a Dragon Summoner.
I am playing in the PIZZA 2 THE DEEP DISH guild, what is 1 of 3 Guilds of the Hive.PIZZA Communiy.
RULESET
- 32 Mana
- Water, Dragon Summoner.
- Earthquake: Non-flying Monster take 2 Meelee Damage at the end of each round.
- Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters may not be used in this battle.
Because of the Earthquake Ruleset I took Brighton Bloom to provide my monsters the Flying ability and let them ignore the Earthquake every Round.
The only choice was Water monster, because no other were allowed.
PLACEMENT
Diemon Shark: Great new 8 Mana Tank from Chaos Legion SET with a bunch of Health and Armor. With 4 Speed and the additional Flying Ability he has a high Dodge Chance against physical Attacks.
Hardy Stonefish: Meatshield for 1 Mana with 1 Armor and Health, just to give my Backline more time to attack.
Creeping Ooze: For the -1 Speed Debuff, to have a higher chance that enemy monsters miss.
Venari Wavesmith: Provides an 2 Armor Buff for all of my monsters to survive longer.
Axemaster: My Damage Monster for killing my opponent. With Double Strike it can attack 2 times 2dmg each round. Place in the 2nd last Spot to not get killed to fast by a Sneak monster, but have enough time to do Damage before getting into the First position where ranged can't attack.
Deeplurker: Another Monster from Chaos Legion Expansion with Opportunity and 3 Meelee DMG to kill the enemies Backline. Placed in the last position, because with 6 health he can survive more Sneak hits and to protect my Axemaster.
My Opponent picked the Selenia Sky with +1 Ranged Attack. His Tank was Djinn Chwala a Dragon Tank with Thorns. The Naga Windmaster was a counter against my Ranged Axemaster.
BATTLE
ROUND 1
My Axemaster only did 2 Damage because of the Naga Windmaster Debuff. Due to the Flying ability the Electric Eels missed my Diemonshark and the Sabre Shark also missed my Deeplurker. My Deeplurker killed the Saber Shark and all of the enemy monsters took 2 Damage from Earthquake.
ROUND 2
In Round 2 my Diemonshark died and also my Hardy Stonefish and Creeping ooze got killed. The Armor Buff from my Wavesmith gave me the needed additional survibility and my Axemaster got one more Round to attack. The Earthquake killed the Naga Windmaster and my Axemaster was no longer effected by his Debuff.
ROUND 3
My Axemaster finished off Djinn Chwala. My Wavesmith survived both enemy attacks with 3 Health left, because Eel missed again, but that did not matter. He would have survived anyways. Deeplurker killed the Eel and only Monster left was the Water Elemental, which could not attack any longer in the first position.
ROUND 4
My Monster finished the last monster off and I won the battle after Round 4.
STRATEGY, LEARNINGS and IMPROVEMENTS
I already mentioned it earlier that Brighton Bloom is a very great Card for the Earthquake Ruleset. I just needed enough time to survive, so my Axemaster and Deeplurker could do a lot of Damage and that Earthquake kills my opponents monsters.
The Nage Windmaster gave me a bit of a headache at the start of the battle because he reduced my DMG output of the Axemaster from 4 to 2. Luckily with only 4 Health it got killed after 2 Rounds of Earthquake and my Axemaster could start dealing the required DMG and finish of the rest.
My opponent had a maxed out Level Lineup for this Brawl Silver Fray, but the Earthquake and my Brighton Bloom won me this game, even though I only had lvl 1 monsters.
