Today, friends, I will be sharing one of my Splinterlands battles with you. I am going to introduce you to a specific card from the Water Splinter—a Common card—yet its ability is nothing short of Legendary. I am highlighting this card because it demonstrates how you can win battles by effectively utilizing Common cards. The battle I played today was particularly fascinating because I deployed a card that grants a unique ability to the entire team, significantly boosting the Melee Attack power of every card in the lineup. It was this very card that helped me secure victory in today's battle. Furthermore, a particularly noteworthy feature is that at Level 6, this card gains a powerful ability known as "Thorns." I will provide you with full details regarding this card. However, before I do that, let me first explain the specific advantages this card provided me during the battle, so that you can truly appreciate just how important it is.
For today's battle, I am playing under the "Up Close & Personal" ruleset. This means I can only field monsters capable of melee attacks; I am strictly prohibited from using monsters that utilize ranged or magic attacks. Furthermore, I have been allocated a Mana cap of 79, requiring me to select my cards within this specific limit. My objective here is to select cards that possess melee attack capabilities, and I have proceeded to choose a full lineup of such cards. However, I have made one specific selection that stands out: a card named the "Demented Shark." Although this is merely a Common card from the Water Splinter, it is exceptionally powerful. The ability associated with this card is called "Inspire." This ability grants a +1 boost to the melee attack power of every single melee-attacking card present in the team. Essentially, this functions for melee attacks in the exact same way that the corresponding ability boosts magic attacks. For my melee lineup, I have placed my first card—the "Robo-Dragon Knight"—in the frontline tank position. By placing my strongest card in the leading slot, I ensure that the rest of my team can operate and perform effectively. I have positioned high-damage cards in the backline to inflict maximum damage upon the enemy. My overall strategy hinged on the Demented Shark granting a +1 melee attack boost to every card in my lineup, thereby enabling my team to deal sufficient damage to the enemy and secure the victory.

I currently possess this card at Level 1. It features a Melee Attack Power of 1. Its current ability is named "Inspire." This ability grants +1 Attack Power to every other card in your team, infusing the entire squad with a distinct surge of energy. At its current state, the card possesses 1 Shield, 6 Health, and 2 Speed. As you level this card up—specifically reaching Level 6—it gains an even more impressive ability called "Thorns." The function of this ability is that whenever a Melee Attack card strikes this card, it deals damage back to the attacking card, thereby inflicting damage upon the opposing enemy as well. If you examine this card at Level 10, it becomes an extremely formidable asset, boasting a Melee Attack Power of 3. With 9 Health and 4 Speed, this card transforms into a truly powerful force. Whenever the specific battle rules align favorably, utilize this card—and you can secure victory in the battle.
Conclusion
On the surface, Demented Shark appears to be just a normal card; however, once you grasp its true ability during a battle, you will realize that it is even more formidable than a Legendary card. Just observe how this card performs in the heat of battle. I utilized this card in a match today and was thoroughly impressed by its performance—it was instrumental in enabling me to successfully navigate the battle. In fact, I did not lose a single card throughout the entire match. This is my victory.
