Here come another week of Weekly Battle Challenge! And the topic for this week is MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN is a pretty good card with decent attack and HP introduced in the Chaos pack release, which could be serve as tanker. No further ado, let's get started!
MATCH RULES

LINEUP
ObsidianCurrent match come with the ruleset of ARMORED UP, which given default armor to every monster on the field at the beginning of the battle, so I picked Obsidian as my summoner so that I could make use of magic attack which would ignore opponent armor and pierce through. |
1st Position - Unicorn MustangUnicorn Mustang are one of my favorite tanker, it come with very good stats in all aspect, the only issue is it has no armor, but this has been resolve by the rule of ARMORED UP. And the VOID ability allowed him to tank magical damage better incase opponent decided to use heavy magic attack. |
2nd Position - GrumGrum come with devastating attack due to his DOUBLE STRIKE ability, and thanks to the rule of MELEE MAYHEM, Grum would still be able to attack the enemy even placed on 2nd position, having DOUBLE STRIKE would have taken out opponent armor efficiently too. And Grum has very good HP as well which allow him to take over the tanker position incase Unicorn Mustang has fallen. |
3rd Position - Goblin MechThe same reason why I'm picking Grum, placing Goblin Mech at 3th allow him to attack with the rule of MELEE MAYHEM, while come with very high attack and good tanker stats, in both Armor and HP. And his PEIRCING ability which break through armor also countering the rule of ARMORED UP as well. |
4th Position - Goblin PsychicGoblin Psychic were placed in the 4th slot, which is a rather safe position, so that she could stay in the field as long as possible to benefit her teammate with HEAL ability. And with the buff of Obsidian boosting her magical attack, allowed her to provide fire power from the back lane position at same time as well while providing HEAL support. |
5th Position - SporcererDue to the ruleset of ARMORED UP, all monster started with 2 armor in this battle, but Sporcerer come with the RUST ability, which reduce all opponent armor at the beginning of the battle and offset the benefit brought by ARMORED UP, a very good card for countering such rule. And at the same time also benefiting from Obsidian magical attack boosting ability. |
Last Position - Mycelic SlipspawnProtagonist of the week! Mycelic Slipspawn able to distract opponent range attack with TAUNT ability, while my team focusing the fire power to take out opponent first monster. And Mycelic Slipspawn come with pretty decent HP too, even it's absorbing all the fire power, it would still be able to survive for 2 or 3 turns most of the time. |
BATTLE
My line up VS opponent line up
EPILOGUE
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Strategy work very well this turn. All monster survived at the end of the battle except Mycelic Slipspawn. Sporcerer RUST ability offset every opponent armor, and all melee attack monster were able to take out opponent real quick thanks to MELEE MAYHEM. Picking Unicorn Mustang as my main tanker to prevent magic blasting also proven to be as a wise decision.
Do you like MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN? Why or why not?
Yes, I do like MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. I will always has her in my team if the mana is sufficient. Placing MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN at the back lane of the team allowed her to distract the range damage from my main tanker, avoiding my tanker been taken out too quick. Even though she is attracting all the range fire power, her decent HP allowed her to survive quite awhile too, while providing fire power support at the same time.
