"Greater love hath no man than this
that he lay down his life for his friends."- Overlord season II episode 4: Momonga to Victim
Introduction
Hi! here playing Splinterlands everyday.
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including thier subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
Last time, I have talked about the soulbound card rewards which we can get from our daily and season rewards and how they are used to formed new strategies across the game. This time, I will have a more in-depth review for the recently new added abilities to the game with the arrival of soulbound rewards following with Weapons Training, will now go with Martyr. It is an ability that increases all the stats of the monsters adjacent to the card with this ability upon it's death.
| When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. Works as the reverse of Bloodlust. |

Weak Magic | Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health. |
Equal Opportunity | All Monsters have the |
What Doesn't Kill You | All Monsters have the |
This battle with 56 mana cap comes with Weak Magic, Equal Opportunity and What Doesn't Kill You rule set which gives all monsters the Opportunity and Enrage ability so what I do here was to place monsters with huge damage output and between this were Venari Marksrat and Firecaller which got very low health and was intentionally placed there to be defeated and upon their defeat, the monsters next to them have gained the stat boost starting with Forgotten One and Grum Flameblade with the death of Venari Marksrat.
Then upon the death of Firecaller, it increases the stats of Countess Sinash and once again, Grum Flameblade.
Battle 2: Fungus Flinger

Aimless | All monsters have the |
Rise of the Commons | Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles. |
For the 2nd battle, we have a 55 mana cap match with Aimless and Rise of the Commons which limits the use of monsters to commons and rare only. Most of the monsters that I have used in this match were range monsters and they got nerfed with the summoner abilities of the opponent which also have Opportunity monsters to target my weak cards and so they attack Fungus Flinger which increases the stats of Regal Peryton and Uloth Dhampir.
Battle 3: Vruz
| Conditions | Description |

Diamond League Modern Format | 55 Mana Cap Available Elements: Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_73d0103fe52a22ac689a72ff610d3d66&ref=agonyaccepted |
Evens Stevens | Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles. |
What Doesn't Kill You | All Monsters have the |
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners. |
For this battle, there is a 16 mana cap match with Evens Stevens, What Doesn't Kill You and Healed Out which means that I can only use even mana monsters, cannot use heal and all monsters got the Enrage ability so I choose melee monsters which will gain damage boost with Enrage but my opponent got Djinn Chwala with Thorns which makes the use of melee monsters disadvantageous for me but because the attacks from a max level Vrus never miss, my team were able to defeat his backline first and also when it was defeated has increased the melee of Celestial harpy, enough to turn the health of Djinn Chwala to 0, else, I would be defeated since I have no monsters that can attack left when the match has ended.
Final Thoughts
The Martyr ability has indeed the strategy we have in battles as before, we try as much as we can to keep our monsters to stay on play because their defeat can cause us to lose the battle but with Martyr, we want this do die as much as possible so that the rest of our monsters could gain the stat boost from them and make them stronger enough that they can win the match. The only downside to them specially for the common cards was that you want to keep them with as low health as possible but would also cause for reward deduction if you do so while the epics and legendaries got so much health that it would take a while for them to die which would take longer for the ability to take effect.
