So as the title says, this will be my very first blog. I've never written anything online that is shared and can be read by others, but I've always wanted to try to blog. I've been curious about it for some time now but never really started it. I have an online diary but it's something personal and I don't share it with others. It's where I write my daily reflections.
Why did I start writing now?
Well, since I started playing Splinterlands almost a month ago, I realized that why not try to participate in the other sites connected to the game. This obviously has a large community and it's growing daily. There's PeakMonsters where we can buy, sell, and rent cards. There's PeakD where we can subscribe to communities like Leofinance. And of course there Splintertalk. So this could be the universe giving me a sign to start blogging.
I'll be honest, I started the game because NFT play-to-earn games are booming right now and I figured since I do like playing games on my phone to pass the time, why not play a game that has a potential to earn. I also started studying and investing in cryptocurrencies, so downloading a blockchain game seems to be ideal at the moment.
It's been a slow grind for me. I didn't really research much on how to maximize the earnings on this game. I just bought the playbook and started playing. I enjoy the strategy building and trying to come up with the card lineup to outwit your opponent. How to maximize the mana to get the best possible combinations. Sometimes I'm lucky, and sometimes I'm not.
Currently, I have a few cards that I won. I'd like to collect more cards to help me win battles and also to increase my power to be able to get to the silver league. I plan to also join a guild once I have enough DEC as most ask for a monthly contribution of DEC. I rent cards from time to time especially before the season ends so that my power level is high and is enough for me to get the most number of chest rewards. But I read somewhere that the rewards chest is based on the highest league that you achieved and not the current one? Even so, I rent cards just to experiment and try to come up with the best strategy and combination.
Next time, I'll post some interesting battles that I've had.
