I bought and opened another 142 packs yesterday.
I initially wanted to hold them for SPS or to sell them in the future.
Then I decided to simplify things and just have fun by opening some at first, and based on those results, all of them.
Overviews:
This was the result of the first 7 warm-up packs at the time:
(Total value of 7 packs: List $16.60 Market $14.48)
The next 34 packs at the time:
Underwhelming at best, but I gambled, and the house won.
This was the result of the last 101 pack set at the time (we both won):
As you can see, this looks much better, if not even awesome. I haven't bought thousands of packs, but this surely made me feel better about sinking over $300 into vouchers during the pre-sale.
The 101 pack set was yielding decent results by about 80% of the way through the opening process. I really wanted more Summoners and was getting enough to feel like I didn't have a huge miss again. With one gold Kelya Frendul from a prior day, I foolishly hoped to snag another so I could combine the card and finally be able to play my level 2 Oshannus and River Hellondale to mow over the competition
Well, as luck would have it, I hit the card! With a few normal Legendary cards (including Uriel the Purifier I missed from the airdrop), and plenty of basic Golds, I felt like I had a passing grade on the packs.
Then The Magic Happened:
As I wound down to the final rows, just after getting another Legendary Fiend, a card started shaking...
Now I don't hover over all of the cards before turning them over to scout Legendaries, only a few in the first rows as I'm excited to start. Therefore, this one above was unexpected, and a welcome surprise to put a bow on the 142 pack opening day.
As it turned over, I was glad to see that it was a Chaos Dragon. I scored one prior, so I immediately thought of needing to buy one more to level it up. But then, for the first time I've encountered, the card went GOLD!! My first GOLD LEGENDARY!!
It was about 5:30 AM and I started acting like I was a kid opening up the Christmas gift they'd asked Santa for all year. I took a screenshot and thought to myself that all of this spending was finally going to be worth it because this would be one to appreciate significantly over time.
I opened the next card, and luck really turned some more. I got 3 Legendary Legionnaire Alvars. I had bought one already to know about him, but these cards back-to-back were nuts. 4 Legendary cards in a row. I took another screenshot.
Then as I went two rows down, another card shook. Wow, this was quite a Legendary surge. Already thrilled from the Gold Chaos Dragon (yea, I'm still green), Quix the Devious flipped over! My first Legendary Summoner, and a super rare one too! What perfect icing on the cake.
BUT, then it made that sound we all know and love, and turned GOLD. I couldn't believe it.
WHATTTTTT.
I flipped out in joy because I knew how statistically crazy the last 2 minutes were. I really got lucky and the cards were not fading back to normal. They were two of the best Gold Legendaries, and will be big assets to hold over time. They're also paired in the Dragon splinter so I'll have quite the armada at my disposal in Silver. Most importantly, the summoner meant that I could actually play the other card at its full strength.
Check it out... I'm not a statistician, but you don't see that every day.
Watch out now.
There were two other perks from this outcome. First, I opted on getting packs instead of 2-3 land plots since I started this pack phase. This pair of cards are 25K collection power to cover most of the lost airdrop points from the land. I presume that they'll also do well in price over time. Second, my collection power from all of the 142 packs rose pretty good to 76,770 CP. I was near 33,000 before this set, so a good haul there.
In total, I've bought 292 airdrop-eligible cards. I bought over $320 in vouchers. I also bought about 11 non-eligible packs. I also got the Baakjira airdrop. After potions and fees, I'd say that I'm about breakeven, and that's a good place to be for now while prices are probably nearing their lows.
Here were the notable cards from each set with full potions:

These extra golds were useful for leveling up several I had already. Now I need to work on my summoners.
Funny enough, I went to proudly deploy this new duo, and lost my first battle by a mile. Hah.
They're definitely not cards you can play all the time, but will be a powerful force with the other higher level cards I can now include when there are high mana battles.
Maybe I'm a bit excited, but I needed a win to feel better about the money I spent in lieu of where I'd typically reinvest it at 110% APR. This was all paid for with Defi interest, but I'm always hesitant to remove funds from a place where I'm compounding well.
As for acting like a kid over what others would shrug at, I think that's a good thing. We're supposed to be having fun, right? I'm not trying to build an empire or anything.
Question: what do you think these will be worth in 1 or 2 years?
