For many months I had heard CNBC and other financial shows talk about the craze of NFTs, cryptos, blockchain tech, fin tech, Coinbase IPO etc etc. I, as many with me, laughed and believed this must be a crazy hype.
Recently, I came across a YouTube clip mentioning top 5 games where you can earn cryptocurrencies. Splinterlands was mentioned first BUT the narrator pointed out that it is very complicated and only for the very strategic and talented ones. Such a great pitch! Of course got a bit triggered and thought that I must be smart enough to play that game.
And so it began. A simple card game... or so I thought. I visited the market and all of a sudden I saw all this so called NFTs... and it all made sense! NFTs wasn't some picture of an Ethereum rock, they actually had utility and demand... and the prices! A digital card of some Prince Julian selling for USD 50K!
This was market where you could buy, sell, rent, rent out, invest, get passive income... it was like a whole new market opening up before my eyes. And it was vibrant!
After jumping into this rabbit hole, I slowly got deeper and deeper into this new tech world. From knowing very little about cryptos other than "Bitcoin is digital gold", I started realizing that we are on a brink of a financial deregulatory revolution.
I consider myself somewhat smart, but after hours of trying to understand how all of this is linked, I realize that this community based innovation platform is beyond my grasp. Things are moving so fast, so free... this must be our times Klondyke gold rush.
For all you beginner out there, yes, this world is complicated. The YouTube narrator that sparked my interest was right: You need to be somewhat brainy to understand all of this. If you do though, I'm sure it will pay off. You are buidling skills and knowledge for the 21th century. I'm doing my based staying afloat here...
But if you don't want to understand or you're not brainy enough, the beautiful part is that you can also just enjoy the game. :)
