Hello everyone, back to the post about Artwork that I will be participating in the Weekly Art Contest held by . Before I explain in more detail about my artwork, I want to congratulate all the winners of the Weekly Art Contest #164 (@splinterlands/splinterlands-art-contest-week-165-10-booster-pack-prize) especially
who has won it 2 times in a row (I mean, every time he submits his artwork to the contest, he always wins).

Character Selection
The character I chose was still focused on the water element, and this time I chose Mischievous Mermaid.
|why do most of the characters you choose only have the upper part in the shape of a human?|Because I'm not good at drawing human feet (I'm still having trouble drawing hands)- |
why not just draw a monster?| Like I said before that I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like Female Anime Characters (as long as the head and body are human)

Sketch and Lineart
All work is done in the Ibis Paint X App, including when sketching. if I sketch traditionally (using pencil, paper, eraser, and the like) then the result will be messy because there are some lines that are not erased properly.
as seen above, the blue line is the first sketch (still messy) while the red line is the detail(final) sketch. for the lineart, I have difficulty in the lower body, earmuffs, and of course the hands. you can see the process of how I made a lineart on the hand.
|Haven't you forgotten something?| Just a minute, I'll check again.....
Turns out I forgot to draw the Glove. Besides that, I have to fix the part that encircles her stomach……

Coloring, Shading, and Effects
for Coloring I always use the Paint Bucket Tool to speed up the process (but I have to cover the parts that the tool can't reach manually). for Shading and Lighting, I did it manually by giving it one color type. To make the Mermaid impression more visible, I added a little scale texture on the legs (tail). I use the Materials feature available in Ibis Paint X.
almost all materials in Ibis Paint X can be used for free
time to make an effect. Actually I've decided to give my image a Manga Background effect, but I wanted to experiment a bit by trying out a few different effects.
try using Pixelate

After trying various possibilities, in the end I chose Manga Background. and here is the result....
using the Logo from @Splinterlands

That was the process of making Mischievous Mermaid which I entered in the contest. and for the contest next week, I will most likely draw EDITH EMBERSTAR (Gladius) and also the last character from the Water Element that I want to make. I also want to create a new character for @Splinterlands, and have thought of a suitable element for her Death. But I'm still thinking about making lore out of the character, so I won't be making it any time soon.
