Evening Splinternerds
So Splinterlands went into maintenance mode a few hour ago and as it came back latter I started playing for today's focus chests. While I was playing, I encountered a new battle rule set; Thorns. Tbh, the update caught me off-guard and I lost the battle.
And as I was digesting the new ruleset and devising my future strategy, I got bombarded with yet another new ruleset; Magic Reflect. This time I was more careful, so I crushed the opponent.
Encountering these two new rulesets; Thorns and Magic Reflect, got me thinking there must also be Return Fire. I means isn't that obvious. Two hours into battling, I did got Return Fire ruleset so I went to Neoxian City Splinterlands channel and enquired there about the new rulesets. confirmed about Return Fire ruleset and he was kind enough to even share with me one of his battle with the ruleset.
Out of the three new ruleset in play, I have already encountered two of them and witnessed the other...so lets review each of the new ruleset one by one:
Thorns
So as the ability name suggests, Thorns ruleset means all monsters in the battlefield will get Thorns ability. So, with this ruleset in play, battle participants will be forced to avoid melee monsters as much as they can and rely heavily on ranged and magic monsters. Plus Reflection Shield ability monsters will also be preferred.
Battle with Thorns ruleset
Reflection Shield
As the name suggests, Reflection Shield ruleset gives all the monsters in battlefield Magic Reflect ability. So, in Reflection Shield battles participants will be more inclined to avoid Magic attack monsters. Moreover magic attack monsters with Void and Refection Shield abilities will be more suited.
Battle with Reflection Shield ruleset
Return Fire
In Return Fire battle ruleset all monsters in the battle have Return Fire ability. So, basically in this ruleset all ranged attack monsters perish. Moreover, ranged abilities will be more preferred.
Battle with Return Fire ruleset
I like all of the above new battle rulesets, as they make gaming more interesting and diverse. Moreover, I would love to see more new battle rulesets in future. A few suggestions are Void Armor, Scavengers, Bloodlust, Scattershot, Last Standers, Leachers, Double Strikers etc.
That will be all for today!
Did you fought with any of the new rulesets so far?
