Power Up or Cash Out, My Strategy as a Nigerian Creator
Hello friends👋, I hope your day is going very comfortable. When I first joined Hive, I was excited… but also confused.
Because Hive is very different from the centralized platforms I was used to.
At first, I didn’t really understand how the system works, especially when it came to earnings, Hive coins, and what to do with them.
And as someone living in Nigeria, making this decision is not always as easy as it sounds—just choosing the one you think may go well.
🇳🇬 The Reality Behind the Decision
In a country like Nigeria, when it comes to choosing between saving and spending, it is a real struggle.
Sometimes, you will feel it is better to build for the future.
Other times, life challenges can push you to use what you have at the moment to solve your needs immediately.
There are moments when I feel saving everything is a better option for me,
And I also have moments when I feel that I need to cash out with the aim of solving my needs urgently.
This is the reality many of us face daily.
🔼 Powering Up By staking Hive, we intend to gradually build our future on the blockchain.

Powering up on Hive means increasing my Hive Power (HP).
For me, this represents:
Growth
Influence
And long-term commitment.
When I power up, I know I am investing in my future on Hive.
And I am building something that will benefit me later in time to come.
But the challenge that comes around is this:
Once I have powered up, I can’t easily use that money immediately.
💸 Cashing Out to Solve Today’s Needs, Cashing out is also important because it helps me:
Handle real-life responsibilities,
Support my daily needs, and
Stay stable in difficult times.
But if I only cash out everything…
I will definitely lose the opportunity to grow my influence here on Hive.
⚖️ To me, Balance is the Key
After understanding both sides, I came to a personal conclusion.
I use a 50% – 50% strategy, that is:
50% Power Up (Hive = HP) – This builds my long-term growth and influence, and then…
I keep 50% as HBD, which I can cash out. This helps me handle real-life needs.
With this,
I am growing step by step toward the future,
And at the same time, I can solve some of my needs in the present.
The Lesson I’ve Learned
Life has taught me something important:
Not everything you earn should be spent… and not everything should be saved.
In Conclusions...
For me, Hive is more than just earning—it is a journey of gradual growth.
So, whether you choose to power up or cash out,
I know everyone has the full right to choose their preferred payout option based on their preferences.
I believe it depends on the kind of future each person is building for themselves.
Thanks for visiting 🙏❤️
