The great actor Sean Connery, who just passed away today, was a friend of Israel.
He visited us in 1967, the same year as the Six Day War, posing with then IAF Commander Maj. Gen. Moti Hod and an Iraqi MiG-21, numbered '007'

He was also pictured during that visit with famed Israeli actor Topol, who would later appear in a James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only, but with Roger Moore.

In 2005, Sean took a ceremonial kick off during a 'Match for Peace' in Barcelona, organized by the Peres Centre for Peace.

"What we really need is to get back some of the optimism [in the Middle East peace process] we had five years ago and I'm sure there's going to be a change in the climate within a week," former James Bond star, Connery, said. While Roger Moore seems to have had an even stronger connection to Israel, this is still enough to get the Israel-haters shaken AND stirred.
Rest in peace, Sean.
