The Ikogosi warm and cold spring is a popular place that's known by most individuals living in the southwestern part of Nigeria. The town in itself is not developed , however, the spring had made her name popular among cities in the southwest. People travel from afar to tour not actually the beauty of the place but the mystery behind the spring that has both a cold and warm side which do not mix.
A Tour In the tourist site
There's a swimming pool at the tourist site. The fountain is from the warm and cold spring. During a hot day, the cold spring is channeled into the pool and during a cold day, warm water is channeled into the pool. The place is visited by many, some to see the possibility of a cold and warm spring dwelling together while others to relax and have a good tour of the natural vegetation that's still grown around there.
Below is the meeting point of the warm and cold spring. If clearly observed, you'll notice a difference between the two sides of the stream. One is clearer than another, the clearer part is the cold part and the dark one is the hot part. History holds a tale that the stream was formed after the death of a king who had two wives. One of the wives who was hot tempered dissolved and formed the hot spring and the cold tempered woman formed the cold spring, the king formed the icy part of the water.
I can't tell if the tale is true but the rumor about the king and his wives is still believed among the natives of the town.
In the environment are buildings and flowers planted to decorate the park. They may not be sophisticated buildings but the surrounding is well decorated with varieties of flowers to give beauty to this place. Recently the government has taken notice of this area and is decorating the environment to make the experience more enjoyable for its citizens. If you would want a wonderful experience in Ekiti, Nigeria. Visit Ikogosi during the warm and cold spring.
